Found a moth pupa

Yesterday, I was putting on my shoes to go out when I noticed this stuck to my shoe:

At first I thought it was a sack of spiders eggs, but upon closer inspection it was a moth pupa. I carefully removed it from my shoe, and as there is nowhere safe for me to put it, I have decided to keep it in a container with airholes:

It was wriggling about this morning for a bit!

I will keep a close eye on it, and as soon as it emerges, it will be released outside.

Hopefully I will be able to get some pictures of it emerging/emerged. I'll post them up if anyone is interested.

Googled around for a bit, and the pupa looks a lot like that of the Silver Y Moth. So it may look like this when it comes out:

I am just guessing though. I'll check with a moth/insect expert at work tomorrow.

I think you'll find that it is in fact a queen wasp.
