Audis in the Park 2012 (photos)

It'll probably be a 530d auto to be honest for exactly the reason you've just highlighted.

How utterly sad that there isn't a car I'd rather own than a 3 box saloon with room in the boot for carpet samples.

This thread was only going to go one way. Many (not all) BMW fans seem to think that their favoured marque is so very different to Audi. Maybe it's the desire to be different and see yourself as much better than your nearest neighbour.

To most people, Audi and BMW are peas in a pod:

- German prestige car manufacturer
- Driven primarily by company car drivers
- Key design notes consistent across the range
- M Sport / S-Line
- M / RS
- Comfortable and well built but expensive to own

The major difference is possibly RWD, but with so many Audis being Quattro anyway, I'm not sure how much difference it makes unless you're always on a track. Not sure how important RWD is for the average BMW driver's commute to work. Half of them don't know they've got it, and half of Audi drivers probably don't know what Quattro means.

Wow, a lot of miserable folk in this forum aren't there.

Time of the month?

That's rich coming from you, princess stompy feet.

I just find the lack of variety boring and there's a lot of classic Audis missing. Seems like a 'scene' meet more than anything.

It'd be the same with me at a Ford show, I get bored to tears when it's a field full of modern stuff.

They do when they have to leave it at the work car park when it snows that one day a year and they can't get home. :p

To about 75% of the general public, i doubt they are really that concerned about how their car handles on the twisty B's, and what wheels are driven, even i'm not fussed any more tbf, i had my bmw, it was rwd, i couldn't really tell the difference, becuase i never pushed it, my car is a tool these days, a commute up and down the A19, it isn't important to me.

It is a bit of a bore fest IMO by the looks of it, although there are some lovely cars there and some proper machines but hardly anything really interesting. It looks like a big outdoor Audi garage.

What's so special about this?

I like Audi's but it would have been nice to see some proper classic metal. :)

Audi Financial Services meet.

:D:D:D

A line of A1 shopping boxes is not exciting.
A load of slammed and cambered Audi's with illegal plates and smoked lights is also a bent as a banana.
Some R8s and RS6s is lovely, but that's it.
A load of lovely classics would be amazing but is completely missing.

Think my lovely old 1974 80 is over in Deutchland now. Back home I guess :(

You guys act as if I could have decided exactly what cars where there before even going. And I was on the A1 forum stand so thats the reason for all the A1s. :p

Lol, none of the A1s in those pics are even the bottom end SE ones.

I don't know why I bother. :p :(

EDIT: for a brief second I thought you were Adz who has an RS6. :o

Wish these cars were rare round the area of Sheffield I'm in every day, I might get excited when I saw one. Loads of TT-RS RS3 RS4 RS5 RS6 knocking about everywhere, same for e92 M3s mind!

Heavy heavy mick taking, you lay yourself up for it :D

Wouldn't want an RS6. Cracking car and the boss loves his, but the expense on such a thing is terrifying!
