I got my code from Ebay for around a £5. Doubt you'll find it much cheaper.

As for a case I just got a generic one also from Ebay, I ordered a pack of screen protectors aswell which do the job just fine.

Don`t send for a code until you`e checked that it`s actually locked as some phones are already sent sim-free (only Vodaphone ones are all locked) so you may not need to buy the code.

As for the case,i grabbed one of these from the `bay for £5.50,took 8 days from singapore.

.......And in other news,CM10 is well on the way to being ported to the G300 too. :)
 
I've just upgraded to this phone from a San Francisco and it feels like I'm using Android properly now for first time!, really great performance for the price and the extra screen size makes a bigger difference that I previously thought, the only negatives I can find so far are the viewing angles (I've just come from oled), and the phone's build quality, it's a bit 'creaky' but not the end of the world, looking forward to the official ICS update.

My gf isn't getting on with her Ace 2, so my options are either an HTC One V for £160 (she used to have a Desire, so SenseUI would be preferred) or this G300 for almost half the price.

Would a custom rommed G300 perform anywhere near to a stock One V?
 
Well it's basically the same internals as far as I know. Build quality isn't as good as a One V but performance should be pretty good on these newest ICS builds.

Why isn't she getting on with the Ace 2 btw? It is a superior phone to the G300 and One V.

I know it is, that's why I picked it, but she only uses the phone for web-browsing (mainly facebook) and texting.

She had no problems with her old Desire, but facebook is being annoyingly buggy on the Ace 2, be it via the app, or using a browser (both mobile/android user agent and full/desktop agent). If she tries to edit text in a comment it goes to the top of the page and she can't see what she is writing, she can't reposition the cursor properly, and a few other things.

I have verified that they are actual bugs, as my S2 doesn't have any of those issues.

I was hoping that ICS might sort it out, but there is nothing definitive about when/if the Ace 2 will get it, and the phone is making her rage more and more each day, lol.
 
why do i want this phone?! i mean i've got an s2.. but for some reason i want g300 just because its soo cheap :( :D

Non working atm are mobile data/camera/bluetooth,but the rate the dev`s been fixing things i don`t think a fully working CM10 port is far off. :)
