I was kindly donated a quite deep scratch from some kind child on a scooter no doubt whilst on holiday which is about 6/7" long and has gone through the paint.

I really was hoping to avoid having paintwork done on this car as it's one colour (never had that before! :D) and all in all in great nick - tried quite hard to keep it good with it being parked on the road etc. So I'm a little reluctant to have the panel sprayed incase of obvious colour mismatch...

Hence thinking about a smart repair if any of you guys have any recommendations for local companies to Stoke-on-Trent?

It can probably be made to look better with buffing but I would prefer it gone as much as possible really, I am quite picky.

Cheers guys :)

I will do as first port of call, not many people I've questioned have had experience of local chaps or chips away franchises for smart repairs so I'll have to get googling and fire some emails and pics off for rough ideas of cost.

Cheers Phil :)

Will be hard with that colour car.

I would try meguires 3 step system first. Lad on ST forums scraped front of his car on a brick wall and this stuff worked wonders on it.

I would say go to your nearest car dealer and ask who they use! Most have a regular guy in to sort out new stock and they wouldn't use them if they were carp.

This. I scratched my car carrying a computer to the boot and it was only a couple of inches wide but all the way down to bare metal. Phoned my local ford dealer who put me in touch with the guy who does their smart repairs. Was about £75 but he did an excellent job, can't tell it ever happened.

Good idea, nice one chaps, I'll do that - may try the Honda dealer as I've used them a couple of times and spent about 500 with them so that may help. I'd happily pay up to £100 for it to look perfect, theres the odd tiny mark elsewhere on the car but none stand out unless you're me, washing it and on top of it.

Thanks :)

I believe metallic Silver is one of the hardest colours to paint match. They would most probably have to respray quite a large area to blend it in.
