I guess having a dozen or so people round to play 'dress-up my scantily-clad female flower-elf and kill some spoglings' is a far more appropriate than wanting to play Rooney or whoever in front of 80k spectators.
What sort of game are you playing?

Creating stereotypes and taking them are two different discussions.
Everyone is guilty of using stereotypes, as am I. No question there.
However if people get insulted or offended over stereotypes, then I facepalm in their direction.
Think we are on two different wavelengths here.
I know exactly how it came off to other people, that was the point.
Technically I haven't made any noise yet.
The trouble is your stereotype of Fifa players, is not a general stereotype accepted by others. It's just yours.
The Wow stereotype is a general stereotype of the worst that that genre can have. It's not representative of all, but definitely of some.
Now apply "It's not representative of all, but definitely of some" to your fifa stereotype - and the worst players of that genre. In fact, just apply your stereotype to young males, and the worst of them. Kinda fits, and it's nowt to do with sports games![]()
Its not about people getting insulted or offended.....most will have just shrugged off your silly comments.
Forums such as these are social areas, where people with similar interests share thoughts and debate and along with that, it requires a certain level of social decorum.
You clearly lack a certain level of social skills, as you have a number of people disagreeing with your comments (whether they are insulted or not is irrelevant) and so this leads me to think that you associate people that play Fifa as cool or popular (or "badass" as you put it).....something you arent and you resent that and thus your hatred of Fifa players.
You obviously misinterpreted that example I was giving, I don't think people who play fifa as cool or badass.
Your logic is full of fallacies.
No...you misinterpret me.....that comment was not a logic, but an opinion of you, based on your comments in this thread.
I think the actual context of the story here is the OP doesn't like sport, and he made this thread to have a bash at people who play sport games in the virtual world.
Admit it OP - so the thread can be closed in peace !
Admit the OP is a n***, mmo, fantasy games, all his friends play mmos, I mean, this guy loves angels and pixies so his argument is invalid
I see your point but I would argue that it dosen't matter whether its my stereotype or a general stereotype, at the end of the day it's still a belief that dosen't accurately portray the involved party.
People have and will continue to use stereotypes regardless.

Those big macs won't flip themselvesAnyway, this thread is a trainwreck my work shift is over and the entertainment value is gone so I'm off.
Well I can tell you first hand that opinion is wrong
I do like sports actually, I am a long distance swimmer and cyclist myself. I just don't see the appeal in sport games.
You are gonna go far with that sort of reasoning.
Anyway, this thread is a trainwreck my work shift is over and the entertainment value is gone so I'm off.
Any game that could take more than 21 players....?

No I cannot think of a game that would accomodate 15 people without some sort of LAN setup.
However, playing 4-way games like Mario Kart or Super Smash Bros is usually a popular choice at social gatherings and usually leads to lots of laughs.
At least the rounds are quick and people can swap out quickly instead of waiting for people to finish a long game of football.
Idiotic post.
Or am I being a bit too harsh?
In a gaming forum? Really? What's the point of playing Mario Kart when you could go down your local Karting circuit instead?
