Hi guys,

I have someone who is going to build a gaming pc for me I just need the parts but I don't know anything about parts so could someone make me a list of everything I will need for the best gaming Pc for £550 or less that doesn't include monitor, mouse, keyboard or speakers but I will need an os !

Cheers guys

So only 60gb storage space (60gb SSD and no second drive). A 1.6ghz celeron. No GPU with that CPU. You include £14 for a LED strip on the case.

Yes I do believe most of us can.

EDIT: And here it is. £10 over budget but you get a decent processor, a dedicated GPU with over a TB of storage plus an SSD boot drive. Not bad.

YOUR BASKET
1 x MSI HD 6850 OC 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £99.95
1 x Intel Core i3-2120 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail £89.99
1 x Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (WD1002FAEX) £85.99
1 x Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard with FREE 16GB USB 2.0 PEN £75.98
1 x Corsair Builder Series CX 600W V2 '80 Plus' Power Supply (CMPSU-600CXUKV2) £56.99
1 x Intel 330 Series 60GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive - Retail £50.99
1 x Antec 300 Three Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case - Black £44.99
1 x Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CML8GX3M2A1600C9) £35.99
1 x Asus 24x DVD±RW DRW-24B5ST SATA ReWriter - Black (Retail) £20.99
Total : £576.85 (includes shipping : £12.50).

Only thing i'd check to be certain of is if that PSU is good enough for you. If you want future SLI or anything it's nowhere near.

EDIT: Sorry hasn't got an OS. Perhaps you could try using windows 8 preview for a little. If not, get rid of the SSD and purchase Windows instead.

Can anyone beat the above build? I don't want a second hard drive but I need an os and to keep it under £550 please

You do need the storage space though mate :) If you don't need the SSD boot drive don't have it, and take Windows 7. If you're really tight for budget 4gb of RAM would suffice to make budget room for Windows.

Try posting in general hardware too. Most guys there know a lot more than I.

*Another money saving option could be to opt for a 1tb seagate HDD rather than the WD I specced.
