Have you ever been in a street fight/comfrontation?

You could look at it like that. I prefer to view it as more of a janitorial thing where I definitely flushed the toilet on one t*rd and likely two. I don't believe I hit the driver as I wasn't aiming for that side (if the car was driving away you want it to continue driving away) and the car wasn't found nearby. But the backseat occupant would have to have been very lucky not to have a 0.5 inch hole somewhere leaking bodily fluids.

The police confirmed the car had been identified in previous hijackings but not for a period of approximately two weeks afterwards (when I stopped enquiring).

NB

I assume you live in the states and if not why were you carrying, are you ex special forces?

That is genuinly a problem, there are too many people with the "nothing to lose" mentality.

Spending a few years in prison isnt really a concern to these people.

Whilst normal people will consider the impact on their family, job prespects etc, these people care for none of this. Makes them a formidable fow in some respect.

Indeed and he was clearly anxious for his next fix, he was all over the place..that's what he was worried about (and all he was worried about he could barely get the words out but the waving knife was enough of a hint) so for me it was easy to let him have it. I sadly, felt glad he took the stuff and legged it frankly. I know people who have said why don't I feel bad I didn't 'have a go' and I have no idea why they'd think that was a normal response..it takes very little effort to stab someone to death. Why risk that.

If a situation is going down I whip out my nunchucks and sweet katanas. Holding the nunchucks in my teeth, a katana in each hand and knuckle dusters on both feet I then swallow 8 shurikens which allows me to spit them out at my foe to gain an advantage.

My finishing move involves dropping my trousers and impaling them.

I am so good.

I bought some knuckledusters a while back on a 'trip' to Bulgaria, how much time would I be looking at if Police caught me with them?

Probably around 10 years, i know i have to have my fists sheathed considering they are classed as deadly weapons.

Seriously though, no time. Will have then confiscated and a slap on the wrists.

You have much to teach me, sensei.

had a fair few fist fights when i was younger, since i hit my 30's and have more responsibility i dont tend to go out as much and if i do see some trouble i try and stay away.

sad nature of this country - its like the wild west on a weekend in most city centers

As Morba confirmed above, this was in Johannesburg, South Africa. I was a concerned citizen and chose to carry a firearm as I decided rather carry it and not need it then need it and not have it. Luckily, I had it when it was needed ;)

Not ex special forces but went on a survival courses and anti-hijacking course and was marksman rated to 50m (which really is at the extreme end of the range for a handgun). Most encounters take place within 3 metres and ideally you never want to close beyond 3 metres with a handgun as the likelyhood of you using it increases exponentially as the distance decreases and options reduce.

If you have a knife, you need to close, if you have a handgun, you want the distance. If you are Craterloads, his laser vision and deadly fists of steel could probably create a thermonuclear explosion from 100m.

As an aside. what I was taught was that you speak softly to a firearm and you shout at a knife. If you shout at the firearm, likelyhood is the attacker will get a fright and tense up pulling the trigger. With the knife, you want sudden movements and shouting because that leads the attacker to tense up and be slower and less flexible in an attack. Haven't tested the theory as under normal circumstances I would prefer to bring a gun to a knife fight :D but just telling you what I was taught.

Craterloads can obviously discount this owing to Taser he has instead of a tongue and the aforementioned laserbeams for eyes and fists of steel.

NB

My comment about ex special forces was to do with carrying legal arms in the UK not to do with your actions, but in SA I too would carry a big gun and probably air cover too.

When i was studying in Thailand one of my masters passed down something that has stuck with me till this day and i see it all the time.

It’s not the style that wins the fight, without the fighter, the style is nothing. It is the good fighter that makes any particular style a good style for him. The style has no power within it’s self, only the power in which we give it when we apply what we learn.

You see all these kids arguing these days, which style is best etc, when none of it matters. Each style is useful in a particular situation. For street fighting i used to rely on my Akido background heavily, but if you cant implement it the knowledge is wasted. My advice would be for everyone to avoid any confrontations, as one day you might run into me and regret that decision for the rest of your lives.
