***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

I think people are confusing rooting with roms. I will root when mine comes so i can run ad removers because they pee me off. But i will stay on the stock rom because i like the look of it
 
Got my faulty/cracking back cover replaced yesterday.

Took my duff charger in also and was duff in the shop as well as with another SIII so got that swapped out with the cover.

*Fingers crossed* no more faults now :D
 
My S3 has been sent back to Samsung today to hopefully fix my WiFi problem. I'm now keeping an eye out for a Galaxy Nexus around £200 to tide me over ;)
 
Hoping JB really does come, I think they should have had it out long ago. This is their flagship that they've been promoting heavily, yet it doesn't have the latest OS which has been getting a ton of press.
I've not bothered with CM10 or trying/updating ROMs other than a couple of Omega ones, waiting for JB.
 
Starting to think I'm getting a little paranoid about signal issues on phones. I had the SGS3 tell me it was in emergency mode earlier today, just as the One X used to. Now wondering if it's just a flakey T-Mobile signal in certain areas of my village rather than the phone's fault.

OCD much?
 
Good news that! Hopefully not be too much longer for the HTC one series phones.


TBF I do agree with AbsenceJam, they should have had this update out by now considering they don't support any other devices apart from like 2 or 3 top end devices and they all have similar hardware i.e. the GS 2 and GN are the only devices, which are receiving the some updates still (might not even get the JB update) where as HTC and SE update a whole range of phones and still are updating some phones to ICS and HTC will probably get the JB on the one S, X etc. within a few weeks after the GS 3.

Once the JB TW rom is out - everyone will be like meh, what's changed. It's hardly going to change the SIII experience.
 
I'm trying to force the latest update, but I get a message saying that "Access to the software update service is provided to users in the order in which they requested it."

It's not saying there is no update, which has me intrigued.

What's that all about?

Cheers. Would do it on the Mac now but it doesn't support Mountain Lion. Will have to wait until I get home and use the home server.

EDIT:

Apparently the error I was receiving is due to overloaded servers. Lucikly I'm on nights today - tried at nearly 2am and it went through fine.

Now fully updated.

So the blackone has a grey home button due to it not being hyperglazed just like the blue. Looks like scratches on the back cover will show up much easier on it too just like on black cars and black glossy plastic gadgets.
