POST beep, no video?

I built a PC for a friend of mine, I've had to replace the graphics card once in it as it finally died (he specified it was for no gaming apart from minecraft, I threw in an old 9800GTX, he started playing BF3 and new releases on it for a year!). Anyway, he's now informed me that he is no longer getting a video output. No monitors recognise it on any connector, but he is getting a normal POST beep. Any ideas before I ride over there and take a look?

Assuming all connections are fine it'll be a dead card. If he takes out the card and tries to start it up then he'll get a BIOS error code.

So no error code unless the card is physically missing? Any idea how that could happen? He turned it off the previous night, and in the morning it was like this.

Not necessarily, dead card can give a 'no output' beep as well, just not always, really depends on the state of 'deadness' :D

Since this is the second card that died, what psu is he using and what motherboard? Perhaps the issue lies there as two gpus going while not unlikely, is a bit suspect.

The first one was about 8 years old which I gave to him, with him being the 4th owner! That 9800GTX was a soldier, but all the BF3 eventually killed it! I review PSUs so I never use bad ones, this was a nice Cougar PSU that I'd already tested, so no worries there! The motherboard was an Asus P67 board, can't remember exactly.

Oh well, got his receipt right here, putting in an RMA request. Yeah, it was B3, but as Justin said, wouldn't make a whole lot of difference. I'd never heard of Cougar before, but after testing I was extremely impressed!

They're basically made by compucase/HEC, big OEM. Their Cougar psus are usually ok, some of their 'comes with case' psus can be shockingly bad.
