The weirdest things that have happened on a job?

I only just remembered this but back at the time (a year ago) I did intend to post about it and then forgot for whatever reason

I shot a wedding and the father of the bride was quite the talker, kind of like Nucky Thompson for those who have watched Boardwalk Empire.

Anyway, during the evening part of the day he pulls me aside and asks if I do private jobs as he knows some people, "what kind?" I asked and he quickly replied saying it wouldn't be anything "dodgy" but that I should not mention any of this to his Mrs.

He said he'd call me on my mobile in a few weeks to see if I was interested. I thought nothing more of it at that point pushing it off as him being a bit drunk

Forward a few weeks and at about 3am I received a call from an unknown mobile number, I am half asleep so let it drop to voicemail. When I check my inbox in the morning it's the bride's father and he leaves a cryptic message stating a time, place name I didn't quite catch and the words "Very Discreet" :eek:

What the hell was going on here?

I never called him back and never heard from him since then. Now that I've remembered it I'm going to be buggered if I don't get to the bottom of it lol.

At most were a few of the female guests give me a quick kiss.

But I always end up going back to my room alone because i had to keep on working lol

Well, not every wedding ! I am normally far too busy to chat.

p.s. A few years ago when I first got a 30D, someone i know (not really a friend), he worked in Our Price (remember them?!) said he does some business on the side and if I'd could help out taking photos for their website...reading between the lines i know what he meant.

Nothing happened as he didn't have my number and it was just the start of Facebook so not many people were on it.

About a year after that he mentioned it again when i ran into him and confirmed what i thought he meant was true ! He did ask again, like chat over a beer but I declined it in a polite kind of way.

It's not the kind of portraits I am looking to do ! lol

A friend of a friend does glamour photography. He explained that the "wow I'm paid to take pics of naked/topless ladies all day!" novelty doesn't last at all.

depending on the client, they can be right dog ugly one and it makes that job a tiny bit harder. I've had lovely brides to shoot and I could have done it all day!
