The Observer/Guardian are running the story tomorrow that Song has said his goodbyes to the Arsenal players. A friend of Song has also told the press that Song wants to leave (this is from Sky).

So they'll really need another midfielder if this goes ahead. DM will be over the moon.

Why do Barca need Song? They already have Sergio Busquets and Javier Mascherano as their defensive mids. I guess they must be planning on keeping Javier as a CB. Maybe with the sell of Kieta is the reason they are looking at Song.

I'd hate to be Wenger. He has the worst luck in keeping his key players.

Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas hopes to conclude the deal for Modric swiftly. "I think we will have a conclusion in the next couple of weeks," he said.

Unless the BBC have taken an old comment out of context that's pretty hilarious, of course there will be a conclusion in the next couple of weeks given that that's when the transfer window closes!

Branca (Inter director) flown to England today to talk to De Jong. Will be sad to see him go as he has been a integral part of the squad.

Rumour in Italy we have offered £27m for De Rossi. He will definitely be needed with Barry's injury and NDJ looking like he is gone. Yaya off for ACON as well.

Post your sources Biz, or is it all from the 'ITK's' on Bluemoon? In which case, don't bother. :p

Why does it matter if i post the source?
Anyway, it is Gazzetta dello Sport.

There was only one ITK on the city forum and he got banned after everyone started having a go at him for not posting about Rodwell lol :p

It helps gauge the likelihood of it being reliable, of course!

Read something earlier about Saha potentially joining Sunderland, would be much better value than Fletcher IMO.

In 1999 I had Dwight Yorke, Andy Cole, Teddy Sheringham and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the four best strikers in Europe

Leave it out! Not looking to knock their strikeforce but surely if they were the four best it would have been Cole and Sheringham up front for England, Shearer and Owen wouldn't have got a look in.

Good hopefully this means they pull out of the Fletcher deal so Wolves have to explain to the bank manager why they turned down £13m :D

Dunno where Wolves are getting their valuations from, dunno what's more deluded 14m for Fletcher (which they turned down) or 9.5m for Jarvis (which they also turned down)

sheringham was in the autumn of his career, he was a sub at united most times in 1999. cole never really shone on the international stage and didn't hit the ground running at united but did go on to form a good partnership with york. i remember this time in 1996 when shearer was going to leave blackburn and the notw ran a backpage of him 'shopped' in a man united shirt and he ended up at newcastle for £15m!.

shearer was one of the best strikers the pl has and ever will see.

It's already been confirmed, 1 year deal.

A year to drive fletchers price down a million or two, or 6 months till Sunderland come running for the new Christmas price of 17m!

Would be willing to bet Sunderland come running for him when Saha turns out to be useless
