GTX 660TI LAUNCH + SYSTEMS!!!! GTX 580 BEATING PERFORMANCE

I get up to 120fps (90fps min) at ultra settings on my 7970, hardly poor

What looking at the sky?;)

I know a guy with a 7970 and he only get's around 10fps more than me and my GTX480, him running ultra and 4xMSAA, me running ultra and high anti aliasing post(no MSAA), same res for both of us, hardly worth me splashing out on a 7970 just to run 4xMSAA instead of post anti aliasing.

To me, AMD have dropped the ball where BF3 and it's player base are concerned.

IT genuinely amazes me that the 660ti windforce is even uglier than the 670 and 680 windforce.

Words can't describe the terror in your heart when you see it.

Aye? Choosing a graphics card on its appearance , hmmm. Thats like saying you`d only go to bed with Kelly Brook because of her intellectual conversation and not her looks. Strange

I really wanted the windforce/gigabyte with there uk waranty and silent operation and good cooling but I have to agree that x2 looks like dog turd.

Who would want to pay an extra £30 for dog turd looking cooler? Not me

Just this second spent £260 on the msi one because I liked the look of it :)

Nope, on 64 player servers, for instance Metro, was still getting 100+fps when recording with FRAPS, obviously YouTube reduces it to 30fps, but you can see there's no slowdown. Don't believe all the balony about AMD being poor on BF3, it's just to get Nvidia fanboys to justify the ridiculous 6** prices :p

snip,

http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/geforce-gtx-660-ti-benchmark-review,review-32505.html

The GTX670 is a better buy than a GTX660TI in the long run especially since it can be had for under £300 and if you like overclocking cards to silly levels, the HD7950 will be a better choice.

And that's what happens when you don't brush overclocking under the carpet...

...the green bhoys have been shouting 'it's out the box that counts' since the 6 series launch, complete turnaround from the pre 6's Nvidia gpus.

Unless you want Borderlands 2 for/and PhysX, then this is a better buy:

That's a flawed analogy, you flipped it around. Your interpretation of what I said would be better suited with an analogy where I wouldn't bed a girl that was notoriously good in bed, because she was a right uggo. As we know gigabyte support is good and the cards are well built. But they're cinderella's sisters.

The windforce 2x makes my eyes bleed. Where's the excuse? Gigabyte are a premium brand, this looks like something from scrapheap challenge.

I've got a feeling it has something to do with looks being subjective.

Price seems pretty bad. What's nVidia's RRP on these?

Edit: Looks like the RRP for the reference card would be $299 which is currently £190, add VAT on to that at £38 and you've got £228. Looks like the copies of Borderlands 2 aren't all that free any more. :P

Before some one chimes in with "But, but, what about rip-off Britain, that makes a difference, right?" most of the time it seems graphics cards are fairly priced when converting from USD to GBP.

That's quite curious isn't it? Curiously convenient. *shrug*

Sometimes, I can't help but thing something dodgy is going on between AMD and nVidia with regards to prices. The prices this round aren't great. The top end prices are ridiculous really. Yeah yeah, "you pay premium for the best (or as known as idiot tax)" and all that, but I don't think there's been such a large price gap as there is now in ever.

Results in the reviews seem more diverse than usual. They either show the 660ti as equal / sometimes surpassing the 7950, or more in line with the 7870 numbers.

That's a bit like the card and it's price then, very diverse to our usual mid range cards we have come to expect regarding price v performance.

lol at that gigabyte windforce x2, what a ridiculous looking card, it's looks like it's been knocked up at home.

Well at £200 I think they would have flown out, looks to me not many are buying, but why would you when a 670 can be had for a little more, if you have £249 for a card, you sure got £299:)

What impresses me in particular, is the overclocking headroom of the upper mid range cards such as the 7870. We've still got the 7890 to arrive, too.

In tests the Gigabyte cooler outperforms the cooler used by Nvidia and all the other manufacturers, considering most decent aftermarket coolers run at least £30 I think the premium is worth it if you prefer your cooler to perform as opposed to look nice through the case window.

Metro lol.

I nearly get 120 FPS in surround on that map. It isn't graphically intensive the way as say Caspian.

Not a good example.

nV are better than AMD in BF3 and the reverse is applied to Metro 2033.

Not massive margins but as a statement of fact that is correct.
