Sleeping Dogs

Just got back in and fired Steam up hoping to have a quick look at the game before bed, but it wants to download 1.2GB before it'll start, leaving it downloading and will try it later, hopefully the problems some of you have been having with options menu etc will be fixed with this download, must admit they've been pretty quick off the mark with a patch.:eek:
 
Can someone clear up for me the whole HD package....

I have preloaded the game on my system and its steam status is "ready to play" do I have more downloading to do to make the game HD? or is it actually ready to go?

The HD pack is an extra that can be downloaded separately from steam for free that adds higher res textures to the pc version over the consoles.

It's an official release from the developer.

Right click on the game in your library. Click properties, click DLC. It will show you what you have already installed. If you don't have it, just download it from Steam from the Sleeping Dogs section.

Have to agree with you there, CJS have let me down several times ranging from missing promised dates by up to a week, keys that stopped working after a few months and various lies about keys working but actually needing various patches/hacks to get them in english. They're currently reselling promotional Borderlands 2 keys from Nvidia cards which isn't legal so make of that what you will.

You might be lucky (I have a few games from them that are still fine) but I'd suggest paying a few quid more and going elsewhere.

What doesn't make sense? Not everyone cares about higher res textures, not everyone has a fast broadband connection, the texture pack pretty much doubles the install size of Sleeping Dogs, they have it as an optional extra so the people that care can download it.

I don't see the problem.

if people dont care about high res textures, why are they gaming on a pc?

If you dont have fast broadband connection, buy the boxed dvd version like i did for max payne 3(25gb download)
