Sleeping Dogs

if people dont care about high res textures, why are they gaming on a pc?

If you dont have fast broadband connection, buy the boxed dvd version like i did for max payne 3(25gb download)

simple

Just because you play on the PC it doesn't mean it is due to the high res textures. Some people have lower end systems that to be honest, probably couldn't run this game at high enough detail to actually notice the difference. This gives them the option, rather than making it one huge download when they will never need it.

So instead of download a 5gb file, you want it to include the HD pack and make others buy the disk? What does it matter, all it takes is a couple of clicks and you've got the HD pack downloading, it's not like it is hard to do is it. I mentioned it above but it gives people the option that will never need the HD file and it will save them HD space aswell.

It's not hard to understand why it is better, even though it isn't why they did it this way. Although it is funny to see how people pick holes in every single thing.

simple.

ps. I know plenty that game on the PC because most of their friends do, some also do not have the money to splash around on high end systems. It's not like they are missing out playing on low/medium at all, right they may not see some of the amazing HD textures but to be it doesn't ruin the game.

Like i said, go buy the dvd version if u dont want to download 30gb. easy.

Also, they can play in low settings an disable hd textures if they wish. i see no point in having it separately as a dlc imo.

So what about people that can't buy the DVD version? You do know that Sleeping Dogs was only brought out digitally in the states, where as we got a physical copy and digital version? So should they go buy a copy aswell? In the end fella, your making a mountain out of a bloody molehill over a few extra clicks to get a HD pack.

Yeah they can play it low and never use the HD pack, this way allows them not to have to download it when they are never going to have to use it.

If you want to know the reason they did it seperately it wasn't due to wanting to help people out, it was because it wouldn't fit on their discs. They didn't want to include two discs, so made it DLC that anyone that wanted it could download it. If it would have fit, it would have been on there as standard.

So in the end there is a point.

I'm more than happy with the HD pack being an optional download. What's the problem?

At least then people have the choice whether to download it or not rather than just pack it in for everyone.

What a great game and it looks very nice just been driving around lock picking and stealing loot and doing few missions.

The fighting mechanic are great can be a little clunky at times i love how ambulance turns up and bloke said "this guy is dead on arrival" after i smashed him with iron pipe. :D

The little touches in the game make it for me when i stole a taxi someone tried to get in and Wei goes "Do i look like a taxi driver to you" lol :D

sometimes they use a defibrillator and revive them to

it looks pretty good, instantly reminded me of True Crime.
it was originally suposed to be a reboot of the true crime series called true crime: hong kong

activision decided to cancel the game , square enix bought the game but didnt buy the naming rights for true crime so they just funded the rest of the development and changed the game.

apparently the game was fully playable from start to finish at the time it was cancelled and just needed polish.

seeing as its getting really good reviews activision share holders are probably not happy lol, i guess it wasnt COD enough for kotick XD

Auck Fctivison, they can go rot alongside EA. I have to say though, this Japanese-English alliance recently in video gaming is badass, got the big name Japanese companies funding the small English dev's who are making fantastic games. Square buying out Eidos was probably one of the best moves for British gaming. I mean who else do we have?

Codemasters? Lol.
Lionhead? Trolololol.

the game is getting a few dodgy reviews :(
i've already read 3 poor ones

2.

Eurogamer are a joke.

I have to admit I'm appauled that I let this slip past my radar as I have taken zero interest in it since it started getting hyped, and now I want it but can't afford it. :D

Doesn't matter though, as I have 90 odd games on Steam to stare at and do nothing while contemplating which to play.

Is 7/10 supposed to be a poor score or something?

Without playing it, that seems about right to me, worth a go if you're into this kind of game but nothing in there that makes it stand out in the genre.

7/10 is deffo dodgy for me, plus although the reviews aren't bad, they say the game feels a bit lame and nothing memorable.

you have to consider that for me, this game takes 6 hours to download from Steam, so yes i'm very fussy indeed...i'd rather get the DOOM 3 remastered game.
