Not sure if there has been a mistake on the paperwork on the free GAP insurance BMW gave my g/f on her mini.

The price shown on the GAP insurance paper is £400 below her original purchase price. When i queried this they said the deposit isnt inc in the GAP insurance......sounds abit weird to me.

Can anyone confirm if this is correct or are they blowing smoke?

You've already paid the deposit, you don't owe BMW that anymore.

BMW wanted no less than £499 for their gap insurance when I bought the mini a couple of months ago, I am very surprised they have given it away free.

I ended up buying gap insurance from aviva I think it was, for a whole £90 for 4 years.

Sounds odd to me. Depending on what type of GAP policy it is, shouldn't it return it return the difference between the insurance pay-out and the original invoice value of the car? Not sure how a deposit is relevant.

By price do you mean the price paid for the car?

I doubt its free GAP insurance, they discounted the car price by £400 and then sold you GAP for £400 I'd guess. Hence the price of the being correct on the paperwork.

As you've stated it depends on the type - some are return to invoice some are just the difference between payout and finance currently owed.

No as BMW wouldnt give any off the sticker (already been discounted a day before) they chucked gap in for free. I said we didn't want it but when we come to pay it was on there so just took it. Only managed free Matt's and a full tank. O well the things you do to keep the lady happy, she loves it

I guess they put it through by taking 400 off the car and then selling gap.

Amazed you fell for the no room on the price thing!

It wasn't my choice there was other ppl coming to view the car even when we was looking at it another couple came and looked. The missus set her heart on it, tried to get some off but it had been discounted 500 squid a day before. I seen it at the higher price earlyer a couple weeks back and I seen on the screen the date of price change.

you have to keep the lady happy which she is very, defo not my choice of car but hayhoo
