Was there anything particularly special about the Civic Jordan, future classic?

Got my eye on a completely standard one from a neighbour who has had it for years and isn't really bothered or knows much about cars.

Quick search found this - http://maydaygarage.com/2011/05/18/nostalgic-wednesday-1999-honda-civic-jordan-edition/

- A limited run of 500 cars in 1999 only
- Based on a Civic 1.6 VTI ( Only Available in F1 Yellow)
- Sports the Type-R body kit (minus the trunk spoiler and front grill)
- Interior is full 2 tone leather in Black and Yellow.
- 15″ Split 5 spoke alloy wheels
- 1.6 VTEC DOHC
- Air Conditioning

I used to like them when new but not so sure now :p

type r had a hand made engine, it was c.190bhp from 1.6 na. b16a (or was it c)

it had lsd, thinner glass, extra braces, special seats. type r hondas were really focues back then

The type R (ek9) had a b16b with 180 odd bhp. The shell was seem welded from the factory and loads of other tweaks to make it more 'race/track orientated (thinner/lighter glass, quicker steering rack, harder suspension etc as matt82 said)

The Jordan is exactly the same as a VTi (ek4) with a b16a2 engine, 160 odd bhp, but with the bits Duke posted. Entirely different cars to the ek9 but shouldn't really command a premium over a VTi unless you really like yellow!

The Jordan is just a limited run EK4 with B16A2 engine in yellow with leather interior and VTI-S lip kit

It has nothing to do with an EK9 (B16B BTW)

If you can get it for a sensible price you could easily make on it if its totally standard

Mate of mine has a heavily modded one, supercharghed with a diff, coilovers, brakes, yellow enkei wheels, twinloop etc etc....goes very well! His sister has a standard one as well!

For me they command a lot of money for an old civic, but that's the Honda scene for you. I cannot stand the interior either, bright yellow leather is an acquired taste. They do seem to attract a lot of attention, usually of the boy racer kind...my modified ST gets ignored completely but *everyone* tries to race the honda!
