RIP Winnie Johnson

TBH i would be quite happy if brady accidentilly fell down, then back up and back down, the stairs a few dozen times.

Five minutes and id have the whimpering little turd spilling the info, we are too spineless in this country by far. Get the pliers out on the evil git.

Politicians would never go for it .....

Terribly sad, nobody should have to go through the torture and anguish that she has been through, thats all she wanted was closure before she passed away.

Well if that letter does exist, was it meant to come to light on Brady's death rather than the womans?
Shame.

I wonder are my taxes being well spent keeping him in secure hospital.

Its looking like it was all made up for a C4 documentary. :(

If that's the case it is good they didn't tell her about it..imagine raising her hopes even a tiny bit in the days before she died.

Brady must enjoy it and the power that goes with it, there is no other reason to hold it back.

I don't normally advocate things like this as we are long past our medieval days, but on this occasion, if it meant Winnie could have some peace at last and bury her son, I think I could sanction it without much guilt.

RIP Winnie. That ******* will probably give up the location now.

Me too, but for this monster I'd be willing to make an exception. As I say, he's been using it to taunt the families and gain publicity for his own ends, take that from him and he loses whatever hold he had over the families, and can no longer prolong their agony.

I suppose with her passing though, he's lost that now.

They should do the Mark Chapman on things like this, no documentaries, no media, no one ever hears anything about the murderers again, ever.
They just go into a secure institution, and are never ever heard from again.

A sad twist in a very sad tale.

That said, I think those who are advocating torture for Brady need to think about it a little more with a sense of perspective if they are serious.

So what do we learn from that?
Do we just ignore bad people and what they do?

I'll bite. Why? Brady has used the knowledge of where he buried Keith Bennett's body to play games and psychologically torture the victim's family, and nothing more. Why should Brady be allowed to keep that power over his victims? What have they done to deserve this?

So we have to stoop down to that level, literally damaging society, just to hurt someone?

Petty, pointless and useless.

It's probably a good idea to not give them the publicity that most of them crave. If standard policy was to lock them up and forget about them, it would probably save lives. The fame is part of the motivation for some multiple killers. They're often weak, pointless and pathetic people living tedious lives of no importance to anyone, including themselves. But killing some people changes that totally! They're top news! Everyone knows them! Nobody ignores them now! They are important people!

It's not about hurting him for the fun of it is it though cupcake? In this case it's about giving the victims closure, which Ian Brady is cruelly & deliberately denying them. There is no ambiguity over guilt, there is no doubt that this is not an innocent man, why do we indulge him?

"Petty, pointless and useless" indeed.

Nobody deserves to be tortured, even Brady. He potentially has information about a grave, not the codes to disarm a nuclear weapon about to destroy a city. We don't operate a system of cruel and unusual punishments for revenge or benefit of the victim; it's about rehabilitation, and where not possible, keeping people safe.

Brady is evidently not a person that is safe to be in society, and we should pity him for whatever genetic or environmental influences have contributed to that. We should forever remember Brady and all the people he killed, as an example of how wicked people can be, and not distance ourselves from him as if he's somehow different to any one of us 'good' people. He drew a very short straw, as did all of his victims.
