I especially like this quote "The Japanese launched their flotilla on Saturday, saying they wanted to commemorate the Japanese who died near the islands in World War II"

I thought it was pretty sickening to think they'd want to do that after the 30 million Chinese they killed in WWII.

My opinion is that if anyone was to claim the island, it shouldn't be japan, though i suspect Chinese people probably did live their at one point in history till the Japanese bombed the, you know what out of it..

I hope you all agree.

Do you think our remembrance ceremonies are sickening given the horrific destruction we inflicted upon the civilians of Dresden?

if it helped to stop germany more than killing 6 million jews and 20 million russians and the rest.

helped stop them taking over the whole of europe then no i think we did a good job, if we hadnt went to war with germany i think a lot more people would have died..

Well clearly Japan was the instigator in the Asian part of the war, so they are immediately in the wrong.

well it didn't do either of those.

did burn a lot of children alive though.

I guess that is somewhat admirable...wait no the other thing, detestable.

No.

The Japanese should be allowed to commemorate those who died in the war.

I'm not German or Japanese.

yes i agree that they can obviously commemorate the japanese who died in ww2, but not on a island that does not belong to them..

the island is obviously china's..

if you cant see whats wrong with that, their really is something clearly wrong with you..

I disagree on this dispute, if anyone has a claim to the islands it is Japan since they claimed the island back in 1895 when they were uninhabited and are also part of Okinawa prefecture. The islands then became property of the US after the signing of the treaty of San Francisco, then the US handed the islands back to Japan.

Claiming an uninhabited island has been yours since ancient times so you should own it isn't a very good reason otherwise we should give the Falklands back to Spain or Argentina.

ok

1) please tell me how the island is obviously china's?

2) who do the Falklands "obviously" belong to?
