Llorente would be a very good signing, Sahin looks like it's happening also, M'Villa though would have been done by now if it was going to and I'm pretty sure Wenger flat out denied any interest in him about a month ago also. Hope Arsenal get Llorente and Sahin though.

Bahaha Hehe: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...am-want-marouane-chamakh-from-arsenal-1269515

So DM, no one is stupid enough to pay Chamakh the level of wages we have him on? :D there is someone it seems.

According to twitter. Canal+, the mirror and BBC are all saying Llorente, Sahin and M'villa deals will all be tied up by the end of the week.

If Tottenham take Chamakh, and Arsenal sign just Sahin I'd probably **** myself and need new underwear, so if they signed all 3? Well.. I honestly don't know how I'd react, but I imagine it wouldn't be pretty for anyone that had to clean it up.

The latest on the Mirror (pinch of salt) is that M'villa was lined up a while ago as Songs replacement. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/arsenal-dumped-alex-song-on-barcelona-1269692

flipping heck. our recent transfer activity is doing nothing but make redknapp look like he new what he was doing in the market.

To be honest its just a continuation of deals from before he left. They were after Ver-whatshisname before the end of the season, Adebayor was a Redknapp loan and he clearly wanted to buy him and the Modric thing is carrying from last summer.

The mistake they made was spending a single second going after Adebayor it was clear from the first second that he'd be a pain to get rid of, want a huge wage and rarely puts in a whole lot of effort so isn't even a good target long term. Every second wasted on that deal was worthless, they should have bought a striker at the start of the window, look at everyone that has already moved who they could have probably gotten if they weren't going after a pain in the ass target the whole time.

Arsenal, Sahin looks good but no one really knows what he's capable of post injury, fitness or ability wise. Overall I think its mostly Real using us to get a player fit without risking their season, saving a little cash and if he's excellent they'll simple offer to give him a new contract and definite first team football next year, even if we have an offer next year he can refuse it.

I think if its a 6mil buy option at the end then that is there plan, make the buying option cheap so someone takes the risk on him, then have him in form for next season and back to his best. The other option is he's not good enough for us so Real don't want him, either way we'd lose out long term, we're being rented to get someone elses player back to fitness.

Llorente, looks decent, but then why did we throw 12mil at Giroud to be back up, and how happy will he be if we bring in someone to start ahead of him.

lets say we get Sahin, so for the midfield 3 we'll have Sahin, Arteta, Diaby, Wilshire, Rosicky, Frimpong, Ramsey, Santi. Right now first team would be Arteta, Santi, Wilshire, bring in Sahin, what Sahin, Santi, Wilshire(Arteta till he's fit?), bring in a DM, who does he play instead of? I can't see any sense in it, Santi is essentially Song's replacement, Sahin can basically replace long term Rosicky/Diaby as an actually quality midfielder so we've got 4 top top midfielders to rotate through and then Rosicky/Ramsey as backup/bit of rotation, cups.

I read that M'Vila didn't exactly cover himself in glory in regards to the whole French football bust up. If he's the type who likes to rock the boat then we shouldn't really be looking at him, I'd much rather we went for someone else, maybe that Argentinian kid we've been linked to, but I'd rather us sign an established, proper DM.

Ultimately yes, it would be nice, but simply having a better footballer in place of Song, who can either actually defend, or just not concede so many dangerous freekicks, our defence improves anyway.

If we didn't have Rosicky, Diaby, Ramsey, sure, get a dedicated DM, play Wilshire/new guy/Santi, with Sahin and Arteta making for an awesomely strong midfield 5 with quality rotation options, several players capable of filling in at DM, almost all of them great going forwards. But we do have Rosicky, Diaby and Ramsey, and a first class top DM, who costs 10mil + to buy will be on a decent wage, and will want to be first team, as would Sahin, Wilshire, Arteta, Santi, and Rosicky/Ramsey/Diaby will want games.

If we weren't wasting the money on players we already have, I'd love a DM, though I've seen little other than hype to suggest M'villa was even particularly good, and with all the rumours about what he's like as a person, not worth getting at all.

Wenger loves Diaby, gave Rosicky a new contract, considering he wants to use them and considering the numbers we have I can't see him going for another midfielder on top of Sahin/Santi now.

This is my biggest problem with guys like Diaby/Rosicky, if we didn't have them we could have fitted in 3-4 guys every year, give some relative unknowns who cost 1-2mil a relatively light contract/wage, test them, any good, new contracts, rubbish, lose little and move them on easily. I HATE persisting with players we KNOW aren't good enough, its not the failing, or not winning, its the not trying. I'd prefer to get rid of known bad players and sign new players who end up being worse, than simply standing still with players who will never cut it. The flip side is you can end up with players who are fantastic, if we aren't going to spend big then that is the only way we'll win stuff, instead Wenger persists with the rubbish in the squad while moving on our better players :(

So they've either deduced that from Twitter rumours or there is something in it... likely the former as it's the Mail. :p

Edit: Lots of places are reporting this now... I think we should give him a try, loan with an option to buy.

Apparently other clubs have dropped their interest in M'Vila, and with Rennes holding out for top price, this has caused Wenger to drop his offer and offer the minimum they'll accept.

I think the deal is very much still on, especially with Song gone now and the fact M'Vila wouldn't cost that much (likely well under £8m).

Just after united signed rvp i kept reading on ssn that fergie said it had taken a personal intervention from himself to get the deal through. Does anyone know what happened? Could fergie have offered to leave sahin to arsenal if they let us buy robin?

Erik Pieters pictured at the Newcastle v Spurs game this weekend. He has always been linked with Newcastle, and is well known to be good friends with Krul. And has been carrying an injury for a while now.... But would love to see a proper left back signed!!

I've been half expecting a deal to be tied up for him.

Would be good if we can get him for a knockdown price too.

Me too, we've been linked with him for ages now. We definitely need a proper left back. I was highly impressed with Santon the other day, however defensively he is still coming short. And if we can't get the Debuchy deal through, I'd rather see him play at RB instead of Simpson, who did nothing except for the cross which lead to Ba goal I suppose.

John Cross of the mirror is a gooner which explains the story about chamakh. It is about as made up story as you will ever find, never will we buy/loan chamakh.

Sky Sports about to talk about Kaka going to OT.

This just sounds so bizzare. How can they afford to pay his wages after just putting pen to paper to RVP's wages?

If it's a loan deal, it's possible.

Berbatov is leaving any day now so that gets a fairly high wage (at a guess) off the books.

So, let's say Kaka is on £200,000 a week, and we go 50/50 with Real Madrid. Jose gets on well with SAF so he may have offered him a good deal, who knows. There aren't many (if any) clubs who will be prepared to pay 200 grand a week wages to any player on loan. If nobody is prepared to buy him, and Jose doesn't want to use him, why wouldn't Real want to try and sort something like this out?

I'd like to see what he can do, but we don't need him. It's odd that this started on Twitter though... apparently, but it's not clear who started it or where it came from, just that all of the muppet 'agent' accounts picked it up and then it was spammed all over the place.
