I get 120-130 on Ultra on my OC 7970, something's up with yours dude

Just read the 3d guru review and at 1920x1080 they get average 50fps on ultra on operation swordfish in bf3 so I don't think any things wrong with mine I have never heard getting 120fps on full ultra.

You get 120-130 average in Metro sitting back with your M98B perhaps. Not the best barometer of actual game performance. I take Dave's FPS readings with a slight pinch of salt

In reality you get a teeny bit less than me in BF3, so around 90 FPS average.

How do you benchmark fraps? Then use the average over a minute I agree you need to benchmark in the busiest open maps like the woods in caspian border etc

I average a whole map (CQ64). Only way to really benchmark multiplayer. You'd hope any inconsistencies are averaged out that way as multiplayer in its nature is inconsistent.

And yes via FRAPS.

Well when I record I use dxtory but fraps seems to be the only program you can benchmark any game wit, if there are any other good ones please suggest.

What I was doing was benchmarking for a minute and trying to stay alive because the problem is when you die and it goes to the deploy screen the fps goes up massively and I thought this would affect the outcome.

Never used/heard of dxtory. Fraps records with such big file sizes May have to give that a look

Yeah a lot of the top gamers recommend it I think the full version is around £30 but worth it more options than fraps on the recording side of things and less resource hungry, you can change the recording res to what you want and record to multiple drives, just doesn't have that benchmark option.
