uplay download speeds are abysmal, currently going at 192kb/s. By comparison Steam downloaded an update at 5.2mb/s at the same time, which in itself wasn't especially quick.

If Driver wasn't 90p I wouldn't have bothered. I know some wonder why people are so enamoured with Steam but this is one of the main reasons why, uplay makes it now 6 seperate clients I have installed just for games, it's ridiculous.

On the plus side I bought and never really played (returned or sold on, not sure which) Splinter Cell when it came out, well whatever registration process I followed at the time has resulted in my uplay account classing me as already owning it, so that is also downloading (slowly as well) :D.
 
uplay downloads speeds are normally good, but sometimes it can go really slow, just pause and restart until you get good speeds. Today I have got both driver and splinter cell at 850kbs, but I had to pause/unpause a few times to get my speeds.
 
I have no idea what's going on. I have both downloading at around 200kb/s, give or take, so I thought I'd pause Splinter Cell and see what happens. Driver jumped up to just under 400kb/s for maybe 5 seconds, then ramped back down all the way to 200kb/s.

It's as if they're actively trying to spoil my fun :p.
 
Thanks to this forum for the saints row 3 deal bought yesturday and glad i did they have changed the price to £9.99 now! maybe £4,99 was a mistake by pcworld
 
Is it possible to gift or give away an extra product key for driver because I purchased 2 copies due to Ubisoft's crappy store front end.
 
Anyone else ordered Driver today but not had any email confirmation or anything? I paid via PayPal but no money has gone out yet and I've not received an email either. Should I try ordering again?

Assuming these deals are intended to bring people over to uPlay, they're not doing a very good job at convincing me to do so. The ordering process itself was abysmal.

It should just add it to your uplay account and then give you the option to download like mine below ?

No it hasn't, no sign of any order going through. What a crappy system, guess I'll order it again and hope I don't end up with two charges...

Yeap paypal will give you an instant email with the order number you can use to check on the shops website. If paypal never gave you an email the order never went through. I got paypals email instant with order numbers but I never got the games for 2-3 hours after. But I could check the process on uplays site using the order number via paypal. It was stuck on awaiting keys for Splinter Cell.
