Moved into a new flat recently and have been sent a voter registration form.

I've lived in rented properties for years now and move at least once a year, so have always left my bank statements, phone bills etc at my parent's address so I don't have to keep changing it all the time.

So, is it going to be a problem if I register to vote here since my 'official' address is not the same, nor is it in the same town? The form says it's a legal requirement that I reply, and the listed people on the form are I assume previous tenants at the moment so their records are incorrect.

No it won't be an issue at all.
It doesn't go on bank addresses.

Although if you ever want credit, you'll want to keep bank updated with new address as they can be vey funny about such things.

I don't know if it's a problem or not but if you don't register then someone from the local council is likely to come knocking at your door.

Yeah that's what I'm worried about, credit reference people seeing my bank accounts registered at a different address.

Guess it's time to get everything changed then? Shame as saying you've only lived a place a few months instead of many years isn't going to be beneficial :(

Is it just bank & credit card registered addresses that should be the same as on the voter registration form or should I change my driving licence and car reg doc too?
