You wait ages for a swanky piece of kit, in our instance a 8k rack server from the one of the largest educational IT equipment suppliers that took 4 weeks extra to be delivered due 'parts shortage'

Spend an hour getting it in plus the 2 UPS rack units..(waiting for a 20tb SAN to be delivered as well!) fire it up and it works for all of 20 mins before you smell that sweet smell of electronic death.. seems the mainboard puffed out

People post threads with cryptic titles, forcing me to read them (I can't help it) only to find out the thread is not only very specific and about something which I have no interest in or knowledge about but also really boring?

Yes. Yes I do.

Fair dos. I forgot that a lot of people in GD are mainly only here for that forum and know nothing about PCs.

Maybe you should have bought two 8k rackmount servers :p a) to give you some DR and b) to give you something to play with whilst the other is being repaired!

Yeah I really hate when that happens. Only with me it was a toy helicopter and I crashed it into a wall. Can totally relate.
