***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

Finally put an order down for a pebble blue S3 along with a 16GB microSD card and a Shocksock pouch (just for my pockets - was cheap so that I might as well). Was worried that I had made the wrong choice because I really, really dislike the white model, but I do like the blue. I keep needing to convince myself but it is gradually going - the S3 really does seem like the best choice, provided that TouchWiz gets off of it! :P The One X has poorer battery life, and I won't use Sense, meaning that the S3 just makes more...sense.

Still a bit concerned about the display and the like, but provided I can get the colours to look a bit more natural it should be okay (does ParanoidAndroid allow this? Or are there any other methods?).

Ok. Got me Samsung Galaxy S 3 today, in Pebble Blue. What essentials do I need and what do I need to get to make the most of my sexy new phone?

Hi all....You know this new fandangled NFC tech for transfering files etc...? Anyone actually got it to work with anything other than web pages etc?

Me and a mate both have the S3 and for the life of me, I can't seem to get it to work with larger files (that I thought it would be ideal for...)

I had a large zip file (a new ROM infact) that I had on my SD card. I tried to send it to him via NFC and though we got a beep when touching the phones together, no transfer took place! We even tried a picture...no good either!

In the end we tried WiFi direct for the zip file, but even that proved unsuccessful - NFC, Android & S-Beam were all enabled, but we couldn't 'see' the other's phones!

Is it like Btooth where you have to enable visibilty or something???:confused:

JB doesn't support flash anymore, if what I read is correct.

All the leaked Sammy JB roms are pre-release and are buggy.

Indeed it doesn't support it, I tried afew workarounds that people suggested aswell but the browsers still stopped responding.

Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300 is getting its Official Jelly Bean 4.1.1 Update by Next Month(September), The update will include all versions of the Galaxy S3. However, Some Galaxy S3 users are confused if they gonna lose their Adobe Flash player after Upgrading from ICS 4.0.4 to Jelly Bean 4.1 ?
As you may recall, Adobe announced that Flash player doesn’t support Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Good News, According to Samsung & Adobe Official statement all users who will Upgrade from Android 4.0 ICS to 4.1 JB will keep their Flash player intact and working, that’s include Galaxy S3 users too. So you can Update to Jelly Bean without Worrying about losing your Flash player!

I have had it work fine for pics... Not tried anything else.

For S-Beam, you don't choose the Share option. I selected the images in gallery view (pressed and held the image then touched each extra image), touched the phones and it asked if I wanted to send them.... It may work for other files as well?

What a superb device.

Was cagey coming from a Galaxy Nexus that I know works great, thinking the switch back to ICS would be bad in some way but the power of this thing more than makes up for it.

It's nice actually being able to hear the phone ring for a change too. lol

My only single complain would be how easy the back cover scratches. I've treated this thing with delicate hands and put it down on soft surfaces but the back cover has a scratch over it. May have been from the factory in all honesty, not too bothered though because i'll be using the flip case for it.

Touchwiz has come along way and all. Always hated it, but this I can get onboard with.

Not entirely sure how you send a zip file. Usually you have to open or be using the file when you touch backs. Once connected, you might be able to 'send' though?

So Carphonewarehouse apparently couldn't replicate my WiFi problem. I'll be very annoyed if I get it back and instantly get an authentication error trying to connect to my home network. I'll probably sell it and buy a new one tbh.

The good news, I can hopefully collect it today or tomorrow. 7 days using a HTC Legend has been hell!

had a play with the S3 at CPW, it blew me away..

It looks 100x better in person, as opposed to viewing pictures or videos on youtube.
