So today was the first workout since the London Meet. I put my back out just a few days before. Leg day. Decided to go fairly light. Went well, felt, good, back a little bit tender but still strong. Legs all jelly like. Headed to the changing room after, dropped my gym pass - no prob, I'll just bend over to pick it u.. HAMSTRINGS SAY "NO!"

Mad, mad DOMS, only.. not so delayed. Unless all of 5 minutes means a delay! I'm actually concerned that tomorrow/day after I really won't be able to walk :/ I don't just mean the usual stiffness and bit of pain from DOMS, I mean unable to get out of bed because I can't even lift my legs kind of pain. All evening my legs have had two modes: Standing, or not standing. There is no inbetween :/

nice work man ;)

Hope you mean that seriously! The wink makes me think about it too much! :p

I was reasonably pleased, especially after having done a working set before hand

Steedie my good man, I decided to go on a hypertrophy route for the time being and really liked the abuse my back got during the session in the OCUK meet.
Any chance you could share a full routine to us young padawans?

As I understand it, you wouldn't want to be doing what we did every session, instead you would do something like that every so often to shock yourself somewhat (naturally you would need double the weight mind going by the meet :p)

Oh boy I'm in pain today! :D

Weighted ring dips and suppinated grip chins superset:

5x15kg // 5x15kg
5x15kg // 5x15kg
5x15kg // 5x15kg
4x15kg // 5x15kg
4x15kg // 5x15kg

Failed to get the last dip the last 2 sets - even with a rest pause. Core locked out, but just could keep the vertical motion going.

Single arm DB rows.

4x6x32kg

Weighted neutral grip legs up (or decline I guess) press ups with a 20kg weighted vest

8reps
8reps
6reps
7reps

was just failing all over the place! :D

Swiss ball stir pots to finish off with.

Oh yeah. Feels good! :D

Oh lawdy! Abdominal doms! For the first time in years! Not painful but there, also strangely I have trap doms:confused:

Chest feels good today, although my back is a little twingy. Moar foam rolling!

Also FF I've always wanted to give ring dips a try, they look like so much fun. Although the interwebs are covered in people pulling or straining the costal cartilage in their chest from them haha.

When did you get the weighted vest?! That sounds awesome.
Many a time have I gandered at this http://www.irish-lifting.com/weighted-vest-pe-148.html

Only to have the price make me walk away.

It looks like I'll only be getting one guaranteed session in the gym this week, so this evening it's going to be my bitch! :D

I dont know how you can cope with that, if i dont get all my sessions in, well its never happened but it would probably result in me going on a gun toting rampage around the nearest shopping center.

I feel dirty if I don't go when I'm meant to :p

The gym closed the other month, ended up going back home and getting my old vinyl DB's out to do a session with

Would you say increasing my bench from 20kg to 30kg in 6 months would be good progress?

To be honest with you, that would be amazing! I havent really been able to go beyound 20kg before.

I presume you are talking Barbell? Or are you talking two 20KG Dumbells?

You should be able to go from 20kg to 30kg pretty easily on Barbell

That's what I feel like, I hate being sick and next week my membership expires in my current gym. I then have about 2.5 weeks of no gym access as I'm moving to college again and they don't let you use the gym unless you're full registered student.

I'll try and talk to them anyway, surely a returning student can get some access early before registering. I'll need my fix. a few days off is bad enough, 2-3 weeks means I'll be completely out of shape by the time I get back :(

When I'm spending 6 days of the week working in a field and living in a tent, it's just something I've got to deal with :(
I do get very annoyed if something unplanned comes up and messes with my sessions though.

Flat Bench Barbell.

Im still planning on using the micro loading technique a freind told me to use, I add 0.5kg to the bar each time I do the excersies.

That would equate to 10kg in 6months. Which if it works would take me from 20kg to 40kg (on the bench in 1 year)

I would be over the moon with that to be honest!

I have never been able to make weight progress using the lowest weights the gym has which would be 1.25kg each side. A jump of 2.5kg is too much for me. So 0.5kg is good.
