-- What is your PC music setup? (Pics optional) --

I've had ca amps and floor standers and always returned them due to being underwhelmed.

Foobar2000>Nuforce Icon>Amptastic Mini-T>Eltax Monitor 3

The main reason I'm using the Icon as a dac/preamp rather than a dac/amp it that it doesn't like my speakers (or the other way round).

speakers are 10 years old now and still excellent.

then my PC 350 plugged into the mic jack on my Keyboard and the headphone port on the Amp so I can flick them off at the press of a button on the front of my amp.

My Speakers are 6 years old, Amp is 20 years old :p

The speakers could sound a-lot better than they do with this amp, and when i have the money to throw at a new amp, i will get one. I'll miss the digital EQ though.

A Xonar Soundcard (not sure on the model) and a set of Microlab solo 1c speakers. For headset listening I currently just use my Corsair gaming headset. May look at getting something a bit better in the near future.

I never liked Cambridge Audio stuff really :/ I've heard nothing but bad things about them and they don't seem to chuck out many watts, but your headphone setup is brilliant :)

Opposite for me actually, always hear good things about them. This was my first amp and I haven't heard any other amp so can't really compare. With no EQ it sounded a bit funny, but once I sorted an EQ via Xonar DX, with the 10.1s it sounded really good.

Windows media player -> on board X-Fi -> Creative T40 speakers -> (at night time) Spark gaming headset

Not as good as a lot of your set ups, but it works pretty well and I'm quite happy with it (unless I come into some money of course)

On board x-fi..? What board do you have?

The audio built into my motherboard goes into my A/V via TOSLINK, Sony STR-DA2400es with Tannoy SFX speakers. Use that for my music.

All other sound comes through ... wait for it ... My £7.99 USB Logitech speakers.

Shouldn't have looked at this thread, many more money spending ideas.

I run just my on board sound card at the moment, with a nifty lil program called DFX, and 1st gen Creative T20 speakers.

My next build I'll probably start into the world of proper sound cards and pc audio.

I'm quite space limited where my system is currently so was a little restricted in what I could get when I got my setup. Proper bookshelf sized speakers were out the question unfortunately :(. Currently it's this for PC music (Same setup also feeds blu-rays and several consoles)

Spotify Premium/foobar for everything else -> Radeon HDMI out -> Onkyo TX-SR 608 -> Cambridge Audio Minx 325 speakers / Grado SR325is headphones

Xonar Xense sound card.

Headphones - Beyerdynamic DT990's
Gaming set - Stock Sennheiser's PC350 which came with sound card
Phono's plugged into technics SCDV900 hi-fi

Not the most audiophile setup ever but I have to say this hi - fi has been loyal and trusty been with me since high school which was just over ten years ago.

My audio goes through my Numark Mixtrack Pro to my Microlab SOLO1Cs. I also have Panasonic RP-HTF600s and a Corsair HS1 USB headset.

The quality is amazing :D

Xonar DX sound card, Htf-600s and the x-540. Nothing much but does the job. Would get some expensive ones but after new monitor, unfortunately have other priorities to tend to.

Simplified my setup now. One set of speakers at the moment, getting another setup which will bring the subwoofer back into the mix. But for the moment these are my options, mainly for music.

Winamp --> FiiO E17 --> FiiO E9 (Soon to be E09K) --> Sennheiser HD650 | HD595 | HD25-1 II | HD25SPII | HD238 Precision

Winamp --> ASUS Essence STX --> Sennheiser HD650 | HD595 | HD25-1 II | HD25SPII | HD238 Precision

Winamp --> FiiO E17 --> Marantz PM6010OSE --> Cerwin Vega! VE-8

Winamp --> ASUS Essence STX --> Marantz PM6010OSE --> Cerwin Vega! VE-8

Loving the Marantz PM6010OSE.
