I'd personally rather see that £12m spend on Debuchy + cover at CB and a young forward.

At least with Debuchy he will start games. £12m + high wages for what I can see a bench warmer and a nice option for Pardew if thing aren't going our way during the game. We made the most subs last season, and Pardew has always said he often looks at the bench and doesn't see a game changer. Carroll can be a game changer but unfortunately Newcastle are not a team that can afford £12m high wage players to be an option.

Twitter now has a lot of rumours going around about Jesus Navas to Arsenal. Would mean the end of Walcott I imagine. Wage bill should go down as well. Bit of a gamble, could be another Reyes. Would be nice to have a winger, who, you know, is actually a winger. And can cross. And take people on.

DM have you possessed Wenger this transfer window?

QPR to go bust this time next year after getting relegated and Fernandes realising he's a fool for giving average at best players stupid wages!

I do wonder if he went on forums looking for a new plan and found this place ;) If so, read this Wenger.... PAY ME.

Rumours should generally speaking be ignored, every team is rumoured to go after so many players its laughable. as much as Walcott's agents are trying to pump up his contract offer by pushing for a move and leaking rumours, Arsenal will do the reverse, leak rumours about replacements for Walcott. Not sure how well Navas would do, he'd certainly run at the fullbacks more than Walcott does and do more in every game but, every time I see him play he seems a bit lightweight looking. Does get a good number of assists, though when I've see him play he seems a bit short of end product.

The biggest issue I have with Walcott is if you give the ball to Arshavin, Arteta, Wilshire, Ramsey, Gibbs/Sagna, even Gervinho, on the half way line on either side of the pitch they can get it to the corner flag, are WILLING to get it to the corner flag and will try hard to get there. Walcott is just a lazy no good ****, give him the ball on the half way line and it he'll look at the corner flag, decide its too much effort and pass back to let someone else do the work.

You take any other winger you can rely on them to try and get the ball forward, work hard, work the wing, with Walcott, you can basically count on him not to try. He's so painfully limited in what he'll do, how much effort he'll put in and when he's willing to try hard.

Isn't he the guy that gets massively homesick which is why he has never left Seville?

Yup, though he never played for Spain properly as he wouldn't fly, I'm not sure if it was a homesick thing or a fear of flying thing. Then a few years ago he asked to be back in contention for international selection and seems to have gotten over the flying thing for sure. Still a bit of a bad idea if you ask me and more likely to be forcing Walcott's hand in negotiations rather than realistic.

You never know, I'd love to see Walcott replaced, his attitude more than anyone else in the squad winds me up, him and Song were so bad. one win, against someone like Bolton and both would be instantly talking about the title and acting like stars. Song is just a clumsy fool and Walcott completely lazy, basically neither of them has ever won us a game through a insane 90min performance, they might get the goal now and then but its other players who drag Arsenal to a win and put the 90mins of work in.

Walcott act's constantly like he's the finished product, like he should be an England starter without question, he never tried to improve as he thought he was awesome.

West Ham Bid £10m for Jarvis
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19342136
£7m upfront, £3m in addons...

Not sure id take that to be honest... but if we do take it then i have every faith in Stale to get us a damn good replacement, the players he has got in so far this transfer window have been damn good

West Ham's hand should be firmly bitten off at that price! No way is he about 3 times the value of Kightly :p (even with extra time on his contract)

Your manager seems to have a really good knowledge of decent European players that are being overlooked a bit and seems to have a decent eye for a bargain to bring in. I say sell sell sell and make West Ham look nearly as foolish as QPR.

Thoroughly agree with this sentiment, it is why we laughed out the Theo back to saints one a couple of months ago. The only places he'd ever get shipped off to will be somewhere like Liverpool or West Ham where reputation seems to be worth more than actual performances...

Papers say fergie is done with nani after Monday's game and he is to be sold cheap.

Does this mean we will rid ourselves of rooney, young, scholes, welbeck i.e those players who were equally bad?

Well, they're quite obviously going for known quantities, to try and improve their chances of survival. It's a more expensive option than plucking unknowns, or players who have never fulfilled their potential, but it's a safer bet (in terms of certainty of outcome).

But Jarvis?

Jarvis is a safer bet at £10m?

Phewww just read that we finally bagged the loan of Sahin for this yr...that should give us some time to find a replacement unless we decide to take Sahin off Real.

Now just need to bag Llorente and perhaps M'Villa...unlikely we will get both or even one of them but still hopeful.
