Spurs have gone from being arguably the third best side in the league to now being about the 6th (Newcastle, Everton & Chelsea all moving ahead of them)

The circus has left already, if you hurry you may still catch them..

Everton ? Is that because they stuffed your lot ?

Spurs had Newcastle all over on saturday and were unlucky to get nothing from it.

anyone know if there's any truth in the rumour that city have bid £30m for luiz?
Sky Sports now 'understand' (again ) that there was no bid. Speculation created from the possibility that City are looking for a centre back and Luiz not being in the squad yesterday, classic 2+2=5 rumour.

On a related note Luiz wrote a tweet saying he was sad not to be playing yesterday because he had a sore knee. RDM was asked about it and the rumour and replied "This social media thing is all around us now. We’ll deal with it internally.” No conspiracy I think, maybe a quiet reminder for Luiz that it's up to the club and the manager to announce the match day squad and comment on rumours (policy obviously is to not comment at all on speculation.)

Spurs were rubbish at the weekend, Newcastle weren't much better but they've got a winger that's easily as good if not better than Lennon in Ben Arfa, a midfielder in Cabaye who's better than anyone at Spurs and 2 strikers that are also better than anyone at Spurs.

As for Everton their front 3 of Jelavic, Fellaini and Pienaar are also better than Spurs attacking unit (which at the moment tbh is pretty non existent) and while the game against us may be fresh in the memory it's worth pointing out that Monday night as well as the game at the end of last season were the types of performances against us Spurs have never managed even under Arry. Everton's defence is also better.

You know that means Sky Sports have made up or read some where that some one else has made up what ever it is they are about to tell you.

The "news" channel is just a tv live feed of the internet (without a picture of the little black box that is the internet). Fun though to see what nonsense they come out with.

A front three of Fellaini, Jelavic and Pienaar is actually fairly rubbish. Pienaar outside of a handful of games is actually pretty meh, he managed 4 goals 7 assists in a ridiculously good run for Everton, but his previous half season at Everton was 1 goal in 18 starts with 1 assists in 8 games for Spurs, before that 4 goals 3 assists in 30 starts.

He's not prolific and he was actually pretty poor against Utd, his final pass was usually poor and his shooting was horrific as is usual. His link up play wasn't great, every real threat came from a ball directly to Fellaini and set pieces. Jelavic certainly has a very good scoring record and we'll see if that can continue in his second season and in the EPL.

Fellaini was epic, truly epic against Utd, I've never seen him play close to that good and he certainly isn't consistantly that good and usually doesn't play so far forward. Of that front three there is one consistent scorer, one sporadically good and one who has had a handful of truly top games.

Compared to Spurs you have Ade/Defoe, Bale, Lennon maybe. Bale scores and assists more than Pienaar, Lennon scores/assists more than Fellaini and Ade scored and assisted very well last year though Jelavic's goals/games and goals/shots ratio was freaking awesome last year, again we'll have to see if he can keep that going in a longer season.

Sky Sports: Fulham have made an official complaint to the Premier League about Liverpool's pursuit of Clint Dempsey.

They're not happy!

BenSmithBBC: Complaint focused on appearance of 'Dempsey story' on FSG website (not #LFC's doing) and Rodgers' subsequent comments.

Fulham are just annoyed we never met their asking price.

indeed, hence the rolls eyes smiley

Just making sure, there's been a lot of sarcasm missed on the internet recently.

Transfer news, Northern Irelands all time record striker David Healy as signed for Bury on a one year deal.

Only thought it was interesting because L1 has been his level for quite a while and was baffled at how he was lasting so long at Rangers...

Apparently Maicon's agent is in England to do a deal to City. 6m is the fee.
I guess it would mean a move to 352 with Maicon operating as a RWB or even a CB because it doesn't look like we are bringing one in.

Would be a good signing I think and at a good price as well.

*que Bale tore him apart so he's past it*

We are in talks to sign Omar Abdulrahman as well. He was inpressive in the Olympics and his trial has gone well. The Sheikh would have wanted this signing as well I think.

Talksport put a poll on their website earlier, asking which of City's centre back targets they should sign: Luiz or Vermaelen?

Vermaelen?! Arsenal fans must be thrilled at this 'news'

Isn't Maicon possibly going to be part of a De Jong swap deal?

Inter have just signed Gargano on loan so they don't need NdJ.

Rumours that AC want him as well, I think he will end up there.

Will be sad to see him go as hes an integral part of the team but we made an offer and he rejected it so its better to sell him now.

If City buy a right back and constantly want to play Zabaleta over Richards, Arsenal should jump in with an offer for Richards asap. He wouldn't be particularly happy at them buying a new right back, and on huge wages, and afaik he's a gooner isn't he?

Arsenal could do with a brick wall in defence, some good attacking and real pressence at defensive/offensive set pieces, something we've lacked for ages, tried to buy with Mertesacker(and failed monumentally), and Richards is fantastic at.

Well we have just given him the captains armband :D

DM: Agree with you. Would love to have Richards at the club.
