So the idea of this thread is hopefully to get some inspiration for new dishes by posting your favourite everyday meals. By everyday I mean the type food you have on a regularly basis, not a fancy meal you cook once in a blue moon or a what you have at your favourite restaturant. It would be helpful for everyone if you could include a link to a recipe if possible.

So here's my top 10 in no particular order:
  1. Chicken tikka masala
  2. Jambalaya
  3. Lemony prawn and pea risotto
  4. Beer battered prawns in sweet and sour sauce with chips and peas
  5. Thai prawn, ginger & spring oninon stir fry
  6. Chicken and leek pie with filo pastry
  7. Crispy chilli beef with brocolli
  8. Stiry fried pork with ginger and honey
  9. Chille con carne - Using Schwarz Tex-Mex chille con carne packet
  10. Chicken and chorizo stew

Perhaps I'll add to this post tomorrow when my mind is a little less befuddled by by Wild Turkey's but-

Red Pesto and Chicken bake.

Basically it's a bog standard pasta bake made with red pesto and chicken, onions, courgette, peppers etc. and topped of with crushed tortilla chips and a mix of cheddar Mozzarella... it'd be dynamite with Chorizo.

I make this about 3 times a month, usually paired with a chicken breast/thigh that has been marinated in a few Indian spices and then thrown on the cast iron griddle pan:

Yotam Ottolenghi's roasted butternut squash with cardamom and nigella seeds:

It is a really good way to cut down on eating so much potato, rice and pasta and really is delicious. If you like this i would highly recommend checking out his cookbooks or column.

I love making moules marinières. It's so very easy, but extremely tasty and if you get the mussels from a fishmonger, then it's very cheap.

Spag & meatballs
Macaroni cheese
Roasted veg & goats cheese pasta
Chicken lattices with baked potato and veg
Slow cooked beef casserole
Beef/pork/chicken stir fry with rice noodles
Chicken supreme
Mediterranean chicken
Pork tenderloin
Sausage casserole with mash
Chicken pie
Minced beef pie
Crumbed fish/scampi with chips and peas

That's probably the most frequently rotated list in the household.

Is that aimed at me?

If so, then yes I do. I do a shop about once a month and these 10 will always be amongst the meals included. Some of them such as the Tikka and Chilli freeze well so I knock up a monster batch so will end up having them a few times a month.

I reckon I have another 10 staple meals every month that I don't enjoy quite as much (hence them not being on the list), then have the odd new recipe or a meal that's more tricky/expensive so I only have occasionally.

Sorry didn't mean it in a malicious way. I looked at the list and thought how the hell do you get the time do cook these fresh everyday but i've just seen that you freeze a lot!

Still i'm impressed, never seem to find the time to cook something half decent and when I do it's usually the weekend.
