I was just curious to know what the general opinion amongst OCUK was on these two? I see the msi is a few quid more but does come with 3 year warranty as apposed to 2 years on the sapphire. Is either known to perform better/oc better /run quieter ?
Sorry if this has been asked before, but couldn't find anything using the 'search' function

Thanks

I would personaly go with MSI Labrynth, purely for the warranty. In terms of performance, they will perform equal and are chip dependant on how much they will OC.

Thanks Gregster.
Regarding the MSI, the frozr 3 looks 'more awesome' than the frozr 4 imo, but I see the 4 is slightly OC and has dust removal/thingy. Can't see that worth the extra £8 or so....

Go with what your head tells ya bud. You can do all the overclocking that is wanted yourself and plenty of AMD owners here will help :)

Had the same dilemma myself.. went with the MSI TF III, got it today and im very impressed! My decision came down to aesthetics in the end

I have the Sapphire, bought it on release, dunno about the MSI but the Sapphire is a great card, literally silent at idle and great performance in games @ 1080p. I originally planned ot WC mine but decided the was no point as it doesn't make any noise lol.

MSI cards tend to be stronger overclockers than Sapphire, Get the HAWX, that's an awesome card, i regret not getting that one over mine.

I had a HAWK 5770 and overclocked like a dream. Heard nothing but good stuff from MSI overclocking cards, apart from the rare dud that someone is bound to get.

Have a look at this http://www.overclockers.com/msi-r7870-hawk-review

Look at the overclock and the 3DMark 11 score.

GFX score on a stock GTX 670 is about 8200. MSI HAWK 7870 OC = 9400, the thing monsters a stock GTX 670, even keeps it on its toe's overclocked.

Unreal ~40% overclock on a 7870, next card i'm getting, guess what it will be.

I got an MSI 7850 today managed to push her on second bench to 1200Mhz/1375Mhz @ 1210mV, crashed at 1200mV.

Sure I could push it further but im a scaredy cat who installs new hardware in his kitchen in just his undies and some marigolds, but that's another story altogether.

Some benches he had to drop to 1350MHz on the core, still not too shabby :p
Why cant you get any higher?
Give it MOAR voltage!:D

1270 is @ 1.3v (as far as MSI AB / TRIXX will go) i'm not unlocking the (special volts on AB) i'm to chicken lol :o

If he had to drop the core on 'some benches' then he shouldn't mention it at all. I can get high clocks on my card on bench runs and it won't run sc2 which runs at like 30% gpu activity.

Get 100% stable and post results or don't mention it at all, hate when people do that, so misleading...

I went for the MSI Frozr 3 and it arrived today. It looks a beast. Thanks for everyone's input!!

I'm having troubles with my build though and have posted in 'General Hardware' if anyone could help.
