I'm with BE and have been for around 5 or 6 years now, they advertise line speeds up to 24megs, mine is around 9megs which is fine, i wasn't expecting blazing speeds.

Over the past 6 months or so the speeds have been up and down to say the least, anyway i tried this speed test and it reported a download speed of around 2Mbps which seems low.

Would be interested in others speeds as a bit of a yardstick.

PMBUZZ: I ditched Be after 5 years, the upload/download got slower & slower, & I move over to BT Infinity, isn't your exchange WSM been enable for fttc, must be imminent, as my mate there was talking about it other week.?

I'm on the Worle exchange, only about .5km away, not sure if it has been enabled tbh.

Did you really take a photo of your monitor? :p

Use the address checker @ https://www.btwholesale.com/pages/s...nity/Coverage/ADSL_Availibility_Checker.html#

Hey, thanks for that very interesting.

Your exchange is ADSL enabled, and our initial test on your line indicates that your line should be able to have an ADSL broadband service that provides a fixed line speed up to 2Mbps.

Our test also indicates that your line currently supports an estimated ADSL Max broadband line speed of 7.5Mbps; typically the line speed would range between 6.5Mbps and 8Mbps.

Our test also indicates that your line currently supports an estimated ADSL2+ broadband line speed of 16Mbps; typically the line speed would range between 14Mbps and 17.5Mbps. Our test also indicates that your line could support an estimated ADSL 2+ Annex-M broadband upstream line speed of 1.5Mbps and downstream line speed of 16Mbps; typically the downstream speed would range between 14Mbps and 17.5Mbps.

:D
So, I need to get ADSL2+, I assume that is Infinity ?

Paying (well, not really paying actually) for 'up to' 20 Meg and getting......20 meg!

With regard to the FTTC checker there is talks about the network uplift being the multiplication factor by which your connection should improve. if I'm already getting 20 meg and the network uplift is listed as 83.45 then i could get 16 Gig fibre if someone offered it? Shirly some miss take?
