He was a familiar name for me in my childhood (was interested in astronomy and his, Yuri Gagarin and Buzz Aldrin were the 3 names I remember very clearly)

Terrible news, actually its surprising most of the moon walkers have gone on to lead very long lives, its surprising the number that are still with us.
