System
case; Silverstone FT02-b-window (USB3)
cpu; i5-3570k
cpu cooler; Noctua Nh-D14 ( mobo needs to fit this )
psu ; Corsair 750AX modular
ram; corsair vengence LP (2x4GB) 1600mhz
Stoage space; SSD m4 crucial 128gb (sata3) 2x 500gb samsung HDD
Graphics card: Sapphire 7950 OC
Outgoing Motherboard: GA-z77-D3H (never again will I get a cheap mobo)
Summary of dilemma
With the D3h I have had to DSR a prior 7850 due to perceived 'fault'.
However, The 7950 bought from Overclockers is also not working correctly, and after the last 24hours of troubleshooting, full OS installs, a Bios update, uninstalls and reinstalls of AMD drivers I have deduced the culprit to be the pcie3 slot/motherboard.
My old 8800 gt would not work in the pci3 x16 port either, whereas it works in the x4 port.
Now my dilemma is that when I rma the motherboard, if it comes back that there is no fault with it, that will mean I have been unlucky 2 times with my graphic cards. If that is so, I would lose out the chance to return my current card as faulty.
So I'm intending to buy another motherboard, whilst the D3h is away, rebuild my system and if again there is a problem installing the card, have full knowledge that card is at fault and return card in time.
I have already timed out on returning the D3H motherboard and will take the hit since its been a more than a month. (not happy)
Conclusion
I want a solid well built overclocker, price between £100-160. At this price the options to cross/sli are in place so no need to ask I think?
It needs to fit my Noctua NH-D14 cooler.
It mustbe fine in 90' orientation ( just in case)
I just want the damn thing to be a good product that works, I haven't gamed in 8 weeks..8 weeks!
