*** PC Gaming - Daily Deals Thread ***

I once heard/read an interview and they were speaking about piracy and Russia. They said that Russia has one of the highest piracy rates in the world and to try and counter it, games are released dirt cheap. The keys they sell are generally legit keys that have been bought very cheap (from Russia obv, hence a Russian key) and they sold on at a small profit. I'm not saying there are not websites that sell illegal keys, but 99% of them do not. Very few people (in fact, I know none) have their games removed.

The reason I don't trust them is not because of the key, but because I don't trust the people behind the website. If I lost the key its what, 20 quid lost, no big deal, but if they **** with my credit card, they can take it all out.

They counter piracy over there by selling games dirt cheap? Do they not realise that will most likely increase piracy rates worldwide considerably?

One of the worst then, the fact it gets perfect reviews and is a GOTY nominee is a joke, if it wins any GOTY, the company that gives it them will be completely discredited and their GOTY will mean nothing in the future.

Mass Effect 3 is like banging a really hot chick who bites your junk off at the end. It's one of the few series where true fans are actually better off avoiding the sequel.

GOTY candidate? Wow what has the industry turned into? Jesus no wonder I don't trust or even read reviews anymore :p

Steam Daily Deal:

Two Worlds II - £4.99

Two Worlds II: Velvet Edition - £6.24

Anyone played it? It looks semi decent ish. I remember playing the demo for the original and really didn't get on with it.

It's a huge step up from the first, at that price it is a definite must have for any RPG fan.

I will probably go ahead and buy it at that price. The Velvet Edition is the one I'll go for. It will inevitably sit in my library for quite a while before I actually play it, but hell, I like buying games ;).

I will never try to buy a game from THQ again, as you have discovered, their site is an absolute shambles. I had a lucky escpae as was refunded after trying to buy Titan Quest from there, an utter abortion of a game download portal.

Just tried to buy Homefront:

Server Error

Error:
We are unable to perform the selected action. We apologise for the inconvenience.
Error Number: SIT_000002

I can see my order now (After having to reset my password like 2 times) but I can't do anything with it.
What is all that about?

I like THQ, but no wonder they're going to crap.

Anyone able to help with the India proxy thing? When I change it, Firefox ceases to load pages.

Cheers

The proxy you are picking isn't working then, bought a friend BF3 through proxy on Friday and it took a lot of goes with different proxies before it worked- took about 20 mins to find one, patience does get you it for £8.50 though.:D

When you get to the checkout, before you enter your CC details, switch off the proxy for security reasons***, it still goes through in rupees, you'll see that before you press the buy(or whatever) button.

***Looking back, I didn't put it on the post but I did say to check previous posts from the link I provided.
