Hi,

Just thought I'd try out my new system linked up to my plasma but I can't get it to display 1920x1080 properly. It ends up bigger than the screen by a couple of centimetres all round. Am using the Ivy igpu but wondered if anyone else has experienced this or whether it is a bug with release preview?

It's not anything to do with Windows 8. Your TV is overscanning the picture. Pretty much all TVs are set by default to overscan the input picture by 1-5%. All you need to do is set your PC to output 1920x1080 and then turn-off the overscan feature for your TV (1:1 pixel mapping/just scan/original)

Thanks,

Couldn't find it at first, instead of being in picture menu, was in setup > other settings > picture overscan, on a Panasonic plasma p42g15b

Hmmm not sure, it fits on the screen, but are there other adjustments that can be made as it isnt as sharp as I thought it would be?

Ok thanks, prob need to get a game controller so I can sit further back. I was using keyboard and mouse on floor.

If you sit further back it'll look great. Don't forget, your average 23" monitor can display 1920x1080. On a 42" TV that same amount of pixels is being spread out over a much larger surface area so when you're sat close up you're going to notice for sure.
