*** PC Gaming - Daily Deals Thread ***

You really aren't doing yourself any favours by not reading posts correctly, read it again:

When you get to the checkout, before you enter your CC details, switch off the proxy for security reasons***, it still goes through in rupees, you'll see that before you press the buy(or whatever) button.

:p
:)

I read it correctly. You're trying to cover your arse by saying switch off the proxy but advising people to jump on this trick is just a bad idea.

Damn, I can't buy Dawnguard on ShopTo. Says I can't get a digital product 'coz I've never ordered a physical one before from them. When did they change that then as I've otdered a download from them before.

Yep, at first I thought it might be because I didn't get Skyrim from there so they might be throwing a strop but I tried to buy Sleeping Dogs and got the same message pop up.

You really aren't doing yourself any favours by passing financial details through random proxy servers just to save 20 quid.

This (despite the advice of just turning off the proxy before checking out) is why I decided not to risk going for it at the cheap price. Tempting though it was at first.

Steam Daily Deal:

The Adventures of Shuggy - £1.74

I read it correctly.

No you didn't, if you read it correctly, your original response would be diferent, your the one who said cc details go through the proxy when they don't.

I clearly stated by switching off the proxy BEFORE entering CC details, zero/nada/nil/nula CC details go through any proxy that can be compromised.

Your the only one trying to cover anything not me.

If you or anyone else don't want to do it-don't, simple as, there's plenty of others in the Bf3 thread that did it when premium was on offer.

Thanks for the heads up, is there an easy way to identify which 'PC downloads' are Steam codes?

There is a way, but there's no filtering you can do, however if you look at dawnguard here:

http://www.shopto.net/download/DWNLD30274-the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-dawnguard

Under step 2 it says 'steam account required' so I assume that all the normal games that are steam redeemable would say something similar.

On the dawnguard note, it's £11.84 on that link, which is a quid or 2 cheaper than most places :). (EDIT: Saying that actually, if you're going to buy it over the next few days, you may aswell go for it on GMG and use the discount code, works out another 64p cheaper I think :p)

The proxy you are picking isn't working then, bought a friend BF3 through proxy on Friday and it took a lot of goes with different proxies before it worked- took about 20 mins to find one, patience does get you it for £8.50 though.:D

***Looking back, I didn't put it on the post but I did say to check previous posts from the link I provided.

Thanks, i'll have another go if the deal is still on. Do I just use different proxys from the link you gave on other thread? Cant say I have any idea about proxys :)

Np,

It's on until the 31st, and yes you just go through the proxy list until you find one that works, it also helps not to have any programs up/downloading at the same time too.
