M83 Midnight City and Reunion videos(interesting short film)

You make a whole new thread just to post a couple of music videos. Do you expect people to be queueing up to reply? What kind of discussion are you even trying to spark here?

And what short film?

It's a good song, but it gets old very quickly. You will see.

Technically,it is already old in style I suppose. IIRC,the guy behind M83 was trying to emulate music from his childhood in the album. Even the little story with the two music videos,is basically about children with supernatural powers.

like the Saxaphone Solo at 3:05 on this video.

Nice.

Story telling has been a big part of M83/Gonzalez gig. Just look at the track titles for the first self titled album;

1 Last Saturday 0:58
2 Night 5:47
3 At The Party 1:01
4 Kelly 4:27
5 Sitting 3:03
6 Facing That 7:35
7 Violet Tree 4:53
8 Staring At Me 1:37
9 I'm Getting Closer 5:19
10 She Stands Up 5:42
11 Carresses 6:31
12 My Face 1:39
13 I'm Happy, She Said 10:05

Collectively the titles themselves form a short story and I like to imagine each song tells the story of these two people at the party, with each moment designated by the track and title. Nearly all m83 albums, some songs run on into each other and the story continues between tracks.

I think Lower Your Eyelids To Die With The Sun is my favourite M83 track. I know it sounds nerdy as hell, but when NASA did manned space launches, I used to play this track from the one minute count down.

It just fits a space launch perfectly. And at exactly one minute... well, give it a listen.

Thanks for that! The song does suit the launch well!

I've just found this track via "A Scanner Darkly" trailer I watched earlier;

I'm now heartbroken I cannot buy the song/album anywhere, other than on Amazon at stupid prices.

Oops! I though you were talking about their current album. It looks like it is out of print ATM and I cannot see anyone in the UK selling it. Unless you can find someone outside the UK who sends CDs to the UK who has it in stock,only getting it via dodgy means seems to be the only way ATM.
