older Nvidia card to newer nvidia card?

uninstall old drivers, shutdown, remove card. install new card, boot up, install latest drivers, job done?

Do i even need to uninstall the drivers? Can I uninstall card through device manager, shutdown, swap the card and boot up again?

You can just swap cards. However, it's probably best if you do it the long way.

Just remove all Nvidia stuff via Control Panel then reboot. Don't un-install it via device manager.
