Hiya Guys,

I need help (no really I do), thinking of finally making the jump from x58 920 i7, with GTX470's in SLI to an x79 3930K i7 (all hanging off an ASUS Rampage IV Extreme) as PC is mainlly used for HD video encoding (which is the main reason for the jump), Photoshop, 3D modeling + rendering and gaming of course, and just to be a pain it must look the the part as well (i.e colour matched)

I was all ready to hand over my lolly for a brand new Asus GTX680 Direct CUII but then the AMD cards fell in price :D (which is a good thing) which has left me in a catch 22.

DO I just go completely mad and lose all control of my wallet and get 2 GTX680's...... (would rather not as if the missus found out I would be a very dead man, but I do like the look of 2 cards in a system rather then just 1 like the GTX690),

Or do I go with a couple of ASUS HD7950's thown them in Cross Fire ?

Or do I get a couple of Ref HD7970's thown them in Cross Fire ?

Or do I get a couple of GTX670's thown them in SLI (again hide the fact that this would cost over £700) ?

Or wait for the HD7990 ?

I really can't make my mind up !!! Help oh good people of OcUK!

Don't really know what you are looking for people to say here...

But i am very happy with CF 7950, wish i had got them at current prices though.

What I'm really after if some advice on which GPU's to get under £650 hopefully, just can't make my mind up .... for Vegas and Photoshop head says go mad and hand OcUK the keys to the bank account and let them help themselves, the other apart of my head says go AMD and save some big bucks :)

Aren't those applications CPU dependant?

Yeah mainly, the only reason I would like the Nvidia Cards over the AMD is because Photoshop and Vegas etc do use Cuda, this is really the main problem and plus as this will also be my main rig to replace the 2 I currently have (and the xbox and PS3) I would really like to be a beast at gaming which I noramlly do at 2560x1440 as thats my native working res anyway.

Either 2 x GTX 670s or 2 x HD 7970s will get the job done. Personally I would go for the GTX 670s (I don't think the HD 7970s support Cuda either).
