13" Laptop - 1080p - NOT Sony

1440 x 900 (native), 1280 x 800, 1152 x 720, and 1024 x 640 at 16:10 ratio and 1024 x 768 and 800 x 600 at 4:3 ratio.

The display, on the other hand, remains a serious shortcoming. How Dell could make such a solid, attractive, well-performing laptop and then hamstring it with a crummy display is beyond me. The resolution is a bit on the low side--we're used to seeing 1440 by 900 or 1600 by 900 on premium 13-inch laptops. Though 1366 by 768 isn't uncommon, it's not the luxurious high-end spec that Dell ought to have aimed for on a laptop like this one. The average resolution is acceptable, but the visual quality is harder to tolerate. When I moved off-axis to the left or right, colors shifted dramatically. When I opened the lid to the wrong angle, the contrast and brightness went haywire. When I looked closely at certain gradients, I could see the spaces in the grid of pixels. Ultimately this is a mediocre LCD panel covered with pretty edge-to-edge glass. It's not a dealbreaker, just a disappointment.

According to the spec page for the Asus Zenbook Prime UX31A you can have either the 1920x1080 screen or 1600x900. The Zenbook UX32VD can be specified with a 1920x1080 screen too, instead of the 1366x768 version. (The UX21A 11.6" model can have a 1920x1080 screen too) All from the spec list here.

Sony 13 inch only goes to 900 too. Higher res just wouldn't really be useable on such a small screen think you need to look at 14+

As above, thats a very high res for quite a small screen. I'd imagine 1440x900 would be more than comfortable.

Think this may be your best bet. 1080p on a 13" might strain your eyes a bit? It's fine on my 15.6" but 13 is difficult to call really.

I agree with the above. 1600x900 is probably the highest you will want to go on a 13" screen. I dont know of anyone that does 1080p at that size anyway
