Guild Wars 2

Agree. Looks amazing with my setup.
Stunning visuals and art direction.

A couple of places have had me double take at how awesome they looked, but I especially like just seeing over the top gigantic things in the distance that you can actually go in / around :o

Last one that was a 'woa' was entering Blazeridge Steppes from the north of Fields of Ruin and to the left as you enter is this shallow river running between hills.. looks utterly amazing.

I've had a change of heart, going to stick with thief a bit longer and try using daggers again. As long as I'm not solo it should be ok.

Daggers don't really work for me, I use a Shortbow for groups and can really tear them apart with some sexy circle strafing, and then dual pistols for single target DPS, Unload, Unload, Unload :p

We are aware of some conectivity issues within the EU region. Please bear with us while our team looks into the problem. ^AT

Same as earliest Beta to be honest...

I'm really struggling to find convincing reasons to use melee as a Thief.

Shortbow/ranged weapons just tear enemies apart for 1/10th the effort.

:(

I've been doing that recently but I'm not finding it as fun. I've got poisons as my utility skills and I'm not really finding them as effective as I hope, I'm not doing nearly enough damage compared to the party I'm with (2 elementalists and a ranger) It could be down to gearing but outside of drops I'm not really sure how to improve that yet, my crafting isn't high enough.

Shortbow clusterbomb is fun but the rest of the skills on the bow seem a bit weak in comparison (2 is great, 3 is a good 'gtfo of here' skill, 4 is a bit underwhelming damage wise compared to 2 and 5 seems only really useful for travelling a bit quicker)

Just hit level 30 on my Necro and having a lot more fun than before.

Playing dual daggers + wells, it's beastly. Using a Staff as my secondary as it gives me the option of melee or max range, also marks make most dynamic events a snooze fest.

4 is intended as a combo field -- it adds poison damage to everyone elses attacks that pass through it, so nice for group play, also has the heal reduction so nice in PvP to drop on someone in downed state. 5 is also a very good gtfo ability for those pesky red circles.

Decided to take up the offer for this, trade two selected Xbox games and get this for 99p.

Should be online this evening :D

I think the problem with 4 is the only time I use it is when a group is tied up by several melee players and I can't really tell how effective it is. I get the poison labels popping up (I'm assuming when people fire through it/use finisher abilities) but I just can't tell how much it is doing.

It's even made the BBC!

Log-in problems have hit online video game Guild Wars 2 as the title officially launches.

The eagerly awaited massively multi-player game went on sale on Tuesday after five years of development.

The sheer number of people logging in meant many faced delays or could not meet up with their friends when trying the new title.

The launch comes at a difficult time for online game makers, many of whom are struggling to keep players paying.

It is set in the same fantasy world of Tyria as the original but takes place 250 years after the first Guild Wars.

Although 28 August is the official launch date, those who pre-ordered the title got early access from 25 August.

Keen gamers who tried to log in to play on the first morning of the early access period had to endure a long wait to get started or had to play in a "staging" area that left them unable to play with friends.

More delays are expected as the official launch brings many more players into the game.

Has anyone else noticed that the 'issues' only seem to be on EU servers (with regards to ArenaNet's announcements)... odd.
