:( Msi Rma replacement has Coil whine

So i sent them a 570GTX with coil whine which sucked.

They were awesome and sent me back a 580GTX but this guy had even worse coil whine then the 570 .

I emailed them back, this is going to cost me another 30 pounds..... and 2 weeks i could have just sold the card and bought a 670....

Is there an MSI rep on here who can give me some ideas on this? the customer service agent who i speak with is very helpfull I just wanted to express my tears on the forum

Yes... multiple. Put it in another system etc too you know the ususal stuff you do, plus the things I did before I sent the original card off too.

Seems the sent me a refurb that does worse than what the original card did O_O

On the presumption you have 2 separate pcie cables on your psu, try using the 6 pin plug from one cable, and use the 8 pin from the other cable.

Worked with a 7970 that suffered from coil whine.

Does your psu have 2 separate pcie cables- 1 cable usually has a 6+8 pin pcie power connector for the gfx card.

If you do, instead of using a single pcie cable to power the gfx card, use 2 cables to power it and split the load like so:

If you have any fancy coloured extensions on the cables, take them off as well and see if that makes any difference.
