IFA 2012 {31/08 - 05/09}

The ativ tab, thinner and lighter than the iPad. But I doubt it has the resolution.

Now on to the ativ phone :)

Can I have an order for ativ i5, ativ tab, ativ phone. Think that should do.
Though hopfully nokia will beat them on form and specs.
 
Well hope Samsung have more off an offering than that for win 8,

Ativ S 4.8 is to big as a phone, no 4g either.
Ativ tab has no 3G, rubbishy resolution.
Ativ smart pc, looks ok, undecided how good/usefull the new atom is and again rubbish resolution.
Ativ smart pro pc, looks pretty good, would still like a higher resolution(but not to shabby 189ppi). 4g/lte as well, but no info on bands that it uses

Apple presentations have always been slick and the other manufacturers have a lot to learn in regards to delivering to the crowd.

I'm disappointed that there's no set date for JB and that Samsung didn't show off the other colours of the S3 in the flesh.
 
Samsung ATIV S looks interesting... should allow the people there to see what Windows 8 is like as well.

To be honest the one I'm really waiting for is LG's conference, the Optimus G looks to be a killer.

I thought (hoped) it was due to English not being the first couple of presenter's first languages which tended to make them a bit stilted. Turns out the people from the UK (European VP and UK GM) were just as bad....

I also guess that audience participation in the US is going to be a lot easier than the serious Europeans (I know it was an International crowd but most would be Europeans)... The yanks are a bit.... mental? about things.... If all else fails you just shout "U-S-A, U-S-A" ;) :p

I'm sure your basing your opinion on using the device and your extensive experience as a semi-pro/pro photographer... Now if someone like Raymond Lin et al had said it then I might listen ;)

No quad cores from Sony? Not interested. Still nobody using the 4.3" 720p screens which is a shame (The V isn't coming to the UK). If no quad core W8 phones come out and no other quad cores are announced I have a feeling it's either LG Optimus G, Sony SL or (don't kill me) iphone 5.
 
Why does it have to be quad core? :confused:

Just because it is quad does not mean that it is the best there is :p i.e. The dual core S4 chip used in the one S, XL etc. is better than the quad in the X and the GS 3 for performance per core, heat, power efficiency etc. Not many apps/features take full advantage of 2 cores let alone 4 cores.

Why do you need a quad core phone, especially when the Snapdragon S4 dual core is not that far of Samsungs Quad core performance.

I have the crappy cpu in the nexus and it decodes 1080p video what more do you want it to do? I would also be surprised if the iphone has a quad core processor.

Was setting up today on the stand, and there is some really nice tech on display (hidden)!

It's not? Didn't see that about the V? Could have been interested in a mid size phone that is water resistant :mad: Nowt wrong with dual core - One S?

Edit: Just read at Tech Radar about not coming to UK shores. Just have to struggle on with HTC One X <tch>
