Hello i was going to upgrade to a 4gb 670 and spend silly money on a 1440p monitor but really cant be bothered to splash the cash atm, but i do need a new monitor, my 1680-1050 samsung is looking a bit tired!
Want a 24 inch, probably dont want to go bigger than that, needs dvi, as my hdmi port on my gfx card is in use by my tv!
I was looking at this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-052-DE&tool=3

With the ultrasharp am i really paying like £50 for usb ports and an adjustable stand? ie can i get the same screen quality cheaper? though an adjustable stand might be good when i'm slouching! i thought about going 120hz just for the faster fps rather than the 3d but i heard radeon cards aren't that good at 120hz and causes problems?

Thanks in advance!

With an ultrasharp u2412m you're paying for an IPS-panel, a technology different from that used in most monitors (and all 120 monitors) which use a TN-panel.
It gives much better viewing angles where colours don't shift depending on which angle you're looking for. It does have its own share of disadvantages though such as slower color transitions, higher price and usually higher power usage (more layers the backlight has to shine light through).

Yes and no.
Yes - there is a 1920x1200 IPS monitor out there that's cheaper, I posted it in the OCUK product suggestions forum but never got a response.

Sounds like bullsh-- nonsense. There are some displayport issues and the cheapest 120Hz screen is displayport only which may have led to this confusion.

I think you first need to figure out whether you want an IPS or a TN panel and if you're going with TN whether to go for 60 or 120Hz. Tftcentral.co.uk has a nice article on the different TFT technologies.

thanks, going to go for it, i like the 3 year dell premium guarantee too, dealt with dell repairs and customer service in the past and they are pretty good.
