Guild Wars 2

love the trait system however im not sure if im doing it right for how i want to play (PVE for now )

Im a thief and use shortbow, and dual daggers

so far ive put points all over the place and am unsure if im feeling the effect

so whats most useful for these weapons?

i know theres no real right answer as thats the idea with gw2 but just dont want to be missing something. thanks

tailor it to how you play, I find the 5/10 point bonuses for focusing on skill traits early in the game are the most rewarding. I know it's improved my warrior no end.

It really does depend on how you play though, you need to decide for yourself, at the moment there's no "cookie cutter" spec and I doubt that'll change.

I don't get internet back till the 15th September so feel like I'm missing out :(
Want to pick it up as soon as I'm back online, but I know a week or so later when MoP releases the game will go dead!

Is it me but Im just not "feeling" this game, its my first real time on an MMO and ive been following this title for a while, I loved Skyrim, every minute of it, but I just dont feel Im being pulled back to this as I did with that. I cant find anything wrong with GW2 there just nothing I really love about it either.

this was what i was thinking :) ok ill just go with what sounds right for now thanks! not touched pvp yet! looks sweaty lol

It has no bugs that mean you can't play the game.

It has a few problems, there's only been about 3 times since the start of the 3day headstart that I've not been able to login.

You must be insanely lucky, as im not on a high pop server and ive had 4+ hours downtime on opening day, not able to login tuesday afternoon for hours and unplayable lag the past 2 evenings. Add onto that the fact the instances just dont work , the AH isnt working the trading system works only around 50% of the time, the guild system isnt working most of the time.

These are only the main things ive noticed, the game at its core i think is good but this is a pretty mediocre launch at best in my opinion.

Anyone claiming its better than others has rose tinted lenses on i think.

While WvW is rather fun at times (if an overload on the senses ;)) without some sort of commander in place, it's just a predictable game of defend, counter attack too far, get owned, retreat. This happens until you get a little too cocky and get stuck way behind enemy lines and get trampled by the zerg. Not sure how much more time I wanna put in to that part of the game...

More fun than SWTOR Hurlbag and almost relaxing to play at times. not sure why, I just like collecting resources!

Gotta admit, I'm quite the gatherer too. Even while mayhem is taking place around me... :o

I need some advice on classes, as i feel like making an alt that has good ranged dps as my guardian is aweful at ranged dps. I'm leaning towards the casters; necro, mesmer and elementalist, but am unsure which to pick. I was wondering what the classes are like at the mid to high levels. So if anyone could give me some advice I'd appreciate it. :)

I think I have decided, the game is great, the events are amazing. Good fun, but the leveling just seems pointless to me... Have no real 'goal' to get to. In WoW, hit it on the head. You play your character to level xx, gaining skills, talents etc etc on the way. Giving you something to aim for. Once you got to the end game. You knew how to play and what your play style was.

Sure there were stronger builds than others. But none the less.

GW2, it's only flaw is the biggest for my in my opinion. No aim or 'feel' for your character. Try out several weapon types and combos, find the one that suits you. Done. Level 10 sorted. Sure you get a few more skills over time. But they are not play style changers. Leaving you with 70 levels of events and quests.

So yea, sadly, not the MMO I have been looking for :( Have 5 level 15's now, and just don't feel like playing anymore.

Absolute shame really, as if it had the same leveling mechanics as WoW (talents and skills every 2 levels), I would have been in heaven.

Please, don't get me wrong, GW2 is amazing, the devs have done a FANTASTIC job with this. Really good game and thoroughly rec it to anyone looking for a new MMO.

The lag was fine for me tonight.

I think if you're far enough ahead of the main glut of players the servers seem to work a lot better. Up to level 55 now and called it a night.

Well I was getting terrible spikes in the level 80 zone which had all of 5 people in it.
