The next iteration of Batman could debut in Justice League.

Fans may not see a rebooted cinematic version of the Dark Knight until the DC Comics ensemble film's release, reports Batman on Film.

An industry insider has claimed that would lead into a new Batman franchise that would be part of a DC cinematic universe similar to the one Marvel Studios built in the run-up to its Avengers movie.

Justice League already has a completed script from Gangster Squad screenwriter Will Beall, while there remains no word on the future of the Batman franchise following the recent conclusion of Christopher Nolan's trilogy.

The next film from DC/Warner Bros will be Zack Snyder's Superman reboot Man of Steel, which will arrive on June 14, 2013.

Justice League is expected to debut in 2015, with the Wachowskis most recently rumoured for the director's seat.

Purely speculation but a good move or like Marvel have done with the Avengers does each character need to be introduced to us before hand? (pretty much impossible with an estimated 2015 release)

Also wonder if Reynolds will continue on as GL?

reboot, reboot, reboot

Is that the only word Hollywood knows?
:(

I really don't want a new Batman film series. I just can't see that it can bring anything new or match the feel of the Nolan films

When they do go for it I wish they wouldn't do an origin story like the latest Spiderman, just jump straight into the main story. We all know who Batman is, where he came from and why he does what he does, we don't need another re-tread of that.

I don't mind reboot as long as the movie is good.

At least it's structured with a lore for the writers to make it good compared to a load of tosh that's coming out these days. Original story is hard to come by so reboot is just as good IMO.

Spiderman reboot was better than the Toby Maguire's but it's still a little pants. The previous Superman was meh and this coming reboot looks promising. So I look forward to a reboot of Batman and bring on JLA - just don't mess with the Noland's great Trilogy, or pick up from any of the other previous Batman!

I hope they can do it justice, no pun intended.

Comics wise, the writing quality of DC is far better than any Marvel stuff with the exception of a few titles, it's such a shame that outside of Batman, it hasn't really translated into movie form too well.

The trouble with reboots is that it automatically implies the need for yet another origin story. For the popular characters, this is completely unnecessary, as we know them by heart by now. Batman's parents were killed, Superman comes from another planet, Spiderman got bitten by a spider. Blah blah blah. Add on the scenes where our hero decides to become his super incarnation, and the obligatory training montages, and that's a good hour and a half of any new film spent covering the same old ground.

What's wrong with doing things like the old Batman films did? I don't mean being godawful, but the Schumacher films essentially had no connection to the Burton ones (or each other, really). But there wasn't the need to explain things again.

If he's being debuted in the JLA film, then I guess that's (hopefully) the way they're going. Here's Batman, his name is really Bruce Wayne, you know the drill. Job done.

Agree 100% - and I've been reading DC and Marvel sine the sixties. I don't know why that's the case (and I'm sure there will be plenty who disagree) because all the best artists and writers have worked in both camps. I don't know, I've always found that Marvel comics are written in a more ...juvenile? manner.

As far as the impending JLA movie goes, I'm waiting with bated breath. I've seen no concrete information, but I'm hyped without any official hype.

Wonder how they're going to play it - official silver age original line up? Supes, Bats, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman and the Martian Manhunter? Or will they play merry hell with canon and just lump in anyone famous who's ever been a member?

If they go with the first option, will it be the original version of those heroes? Will GL be Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Guy Gardener or Kyle Rayner? Will Flash be Barry Allen, Wally West or even Bart Allen? Will they do amalgamated characters with bits of all their back stories?

Whatever they do, let's hope they do it well.

Oh, and please no Ralph Dibney or the Hawks - never liked them. Don't even get me started on Snapper Carr.

This will not work. I just can't see a Justice League movie ever working. Too many of the characters are not know at all by most people and the ones that are just don't fit into each other's worlds the same way the Marvel ones do.

I dunno if using the word "reboot" with Batman is correct. In the same way I think it might be inaccurate when it comes to the recent Spider-Man film; there's various depictions of the character, so maybe another interpretation would be the correct term.

But come on, TDKR has barely been out two months and all this talk about reboots. Already. Seriously... reboots only work well when there's a 8 - 10 year gap and longer.

Look how long it was from Batman Returns to Batman Begins. Batman Forever and Batman & Robin is non existent.

Why wait for the sake of waiting when the current trend of superheroes is working well? With Avengers released and the grossing well above its weight, it'd be silly not the capitalise the market with the idea of a band of heroes from a crossover universe.

Superman is coming, why not reboot a Batman ready to lead into a JLA type film? I wouldn't want Noland's Batman to be banded into a JLA type, it's a fixed story with a fitting ending Batman deserved. A reboot will allow them to tie in the different comic universe better than using anything made recently.

Can you please post some kind of reference when you make a post like this?
"rumours" are pretty valueless at the best of times, but I could have written that (or anything else I personally would like to see) and called it a rumour.
Who exactly is posting this rumour?

I hope they don't do a Robin film... Robin is a little too cheesy for a super hero...

To be honest, if a reboot is to happen, they should leave it a good few years first. I can't imagine they'll be able to top Nolans masterpiece...
