Guild Wars 2

=/ Warrior armor looks so crap compared to the other profs. Hopefully it gets better later on.

I guess that's what the transmutation stones are for though :p currently using the Gladiator looking armour from the "Heart" Karma vendors around Gendarran Fields - looks so good.

I'm board to tears with my thief. Questing and wvwvw is great fun and i tip my hat off to them. The problem is classes are just not engaging, there are too few skills. I know i can swap weapons but most of the skills are useless. I think WoW has spoiled me and I'm used to managing 30+ skills.

I just did a group quest with 20 people v an elite mob. With auto attack i only had 3 buttons to press and two of them were buffs.

Been looking around at prices for this game, majority seem to be £37-39.99. Anyone know any cheaper retailers and would be kind enough to share that information with me? Before I make the plunge : )

You can get it for £31 from the orange supermarket online if you use a discount code. Its somewhere in this thread..

Decided that I just couldn't resist taking a piccy..

I'm a bit of a completionist, just finished all the 15-25 areas, though I am almost level 40, I'm in no rush though (unlike some people) just plodding along, exploring, enjoying myself..

Same here, everyone seems to be rushing but it's far more fun to just relax take your time and play. That's what I love about this compared to wow, no pressure to be on at certain times.
Of course if you joined the right guild there was also no pressure but things got boring fast.

I'd agree with that to a certain extent, although I'm only level 8 so haven't got access to many skills. I'm only really using a few similar ones.

If you pop over to lions arch and check out the vendors near the WvW portals you can see the sort of gear you can get through dungeons. Level 80 you'll basically be doing explorable modes which give tokens for gear.

Some of the level 80 gear looks absolutely stunning.

Awesome. That's good news. Thanks.

Can anyone post previews/pictures/links to these high level armor sets ?

Currently at work and cannot research :(

Agree here. This game, though nice to play, feels like there's very little depth beyond mashing the same 5 buttons and learning weapon swap combos. I really think it will harm the long term prospects of the game once people get over the initial hype and realise how shallow it really is. Not to mention i'm finding the story lines are really cliche and boring and i'm not really feeling immersed in the game at all. That's not to say that other people aren't enjoying it though :)

However i do commend them for not making another WoW clone, but as a long term MMO i don't think this game will sustain as it is.

From what I understand (based on reading online while I wait for the opportunity to play), a lot of the complexity comes from the grouping and using other peoples' skills to enhance your own - like one team member pops a poison cloud, everyone else spams shots through it to spread the poison etc etc.

It suggests that the rewards for decent organised grouping is actually a more fun game, which is kinda awesome. Not so good for those who relish soloing, of course.

Whatever you do don't buy items for karma, salvage them them and sell the mats for gold. This conversion process is classed as an exploit by Arena.net and will get your account banned. proof here:

Well, I'm screwed then, I've generated hundreds of crafting mats from deconing karma items. If they don't want you to do it, they shouldn't let you do it in the first place, not like it's a bug, it's just shoddy game design and in my opinion, you shouldn't punish your players for your own mistakes.

I drop poison cloud for people, its not very exciting. If i had 3-4 different types of poison clouds then that would be different.

Burzy I don't understand how you have only 3 skills? 10 weapon skills, 1 healing skill, 3 utility skills, 1 elite skill + steal = 16 skills? I think you're playing it wrong. Even if you set auto attack on everything (and there is no weapon you should be doing that on) it's still 6 skills?

Pve is quite boring, most of the time for me it's 1-3 button mash but WvWvW was epic.

Got greatesword and 2h staff and I sawp between them constantly, when I need to keep range I use staff, healing abilities, buffing my defenders, range attacking enemies, when enemy gets up close I switch to greatsword. Also I'm a guardian and elit skill I chose is tome of power giving 5 more unique spells. A long with 3 other skill slots that I use constally and add to that whole dodging moving around part, WvWvW was extremely enjoyable. In total I use all 19 unique skills I got, can't say I ever had such rotation in WoW.

Perhaps you just need to find a profession that fits your playstyle.

edit: just to clear up, by pve I mean lvling as I did not go to any dungeons yet and lvling pve has always been boring in MMOs, so perhaps "real" pve will be as much fun as the epic WvWvW battles, they're just so damn epic xD

You might have 10 weapon skills but only 3-4 max are usefull when dpsing.
