God knows how they struck that deal, I think there must be something going on because theres no way Rapha would have that kind of money to drop...

Have you seen the updated City Rain Jacket? They're doing it in orange now! I might have to save up for one...

Just get the normal Rain Jacket. I have one, it's beautiful. I also own and can recommend their:

Classic Bibs
Lightweight Gilet
Softshell Gilet
Softshell Jacket
Pro Socks

I've been looking at their Grand Tour shoes as well, made under license by Giro. I may get some when my Sidi Ergo 2s die.

You just need a spanner or hex key depending on the type of pedal. Make sure you grease up the threads first though.

omg omg omg shoes and pedals have arrived :D
godda go get em fitted yet, not sure if i can do that at home?
Its easy enough to fit pedals.
The hardest part will be removing the old ones. It will either be a 15mm spanner where the pedal meets the crank or an allen fitting on the end of the pedal axle (you get at it from the inboard side of the crank).
it's difficult to get any leverage on the spanner because it loosens the same way that the crank freewheels, so there's lots of fun and games chasing the crank around. Use the park tools guide to see how it's done properly.

Pay attention to the 'L' and 'R' stamped on the pedals. Both sides look similar, but they are not interchangeable. (Although the threads are opposite directions so you wont be able to get them on wrong)

I think he got the shimano M520 MTB pedals.
Good solid, cheap pedals and MTB cleats are easier to get in/out of, which helps when learning. Can sometimes cause 'hotspots' on your feet though because MTB cleats are much smaller and dont spread the load as well as road cleats.

Shimano Shoes MTB M087G MTB SPD Shoes 45 - Silver
Shimano Pedals Clipless - MTB M520 Clipless SPD Pedals Black

I've a bit of fear that I may need 44s tho :S

That bag looks excellent, but Im not sure it would fit without touching my wheel, will have to measure up..
Im desperate to get rid of my rucksack as my back is killing me by the time I finish my ride - it is an old injury rather than ride position as without the rucksack Im fine..

edit - just realised, it will hide the front lights...
damn, as I really liked it

I know I realized that too, it's damn nice tho, may have to invest in some sexeh panniers?

Just had an amusing chase home, I was on my MTB with nobbly tyres and Halfords cheapest pedals, i was also carrying a change of clothes and two bike locks in my backpack (one of which being the Abus Granite X which weighs a fair bit).

I'm coming up to a mini roundabout and a guy in full Lycra on a road bike with clipless and no bag of any sort comes in the opposite directions, we were both turning into the same road but he was coming across me, so I gave way. This gave him the lead, I assumed I wouldn't be able to keep up with him. To my surprise I was actually right on his wheel for the first 100m, then he looked over his shoulder and noticed me. For about three miles he was desperately trying to leave me behind but I was doing my best to stay close (without crowding him obviously). We stopped at traffic lights about half way in, I said hello and he just muttered something back at me in a rather unpleasant tone. I don't think he liked me :p. Just when I felt it was getting to the point where I could overtake him safely (I think he was tiring quicker than me) he turned off into a side road, I was most upset :(
