had mine done last wednesday mate, be glad when its over, day 7 and still hurts, getting better day by day tho.

If they would have told me the amount of pain i would be in , i dont think i would have bothered :P
Nice to meet a brother in suffering!
I knew it was going to be bad, but I've needed it doing for years, so glad to be in the last (but least pleasant) stage of achieving that.
I gather around day four/five is the worst, is that what you've found?
Have you lost much weight?
Any tips on eating?

day 3 - 6 i found bad so far, throat pain im used to from the tonsillitus, but the ear pain is immense. the smell from the throat on day 4 - 5 is gross lol , lost a little weight, but mostly i have forced myself to eat solid foods, as it helps remove the white gunk build up and makes u feel better (not at the time tho!).

Drink loads of water, and i mean loads even if it hurts :P , what meds they give you? they had to up mine on day 3 onwards, hurt like hell :P

Yeah, not looking forward to the ear pain, that's going to be the worst part for sure.
I'm allergic to codeine, so they have me paracetamol and a separate strong anti inflammatory, not entirely thrilled about that, I hoped they'd dish out something comparable to cocodemol.
Going to make absolutely sure I keep on top of my pain meds, as one slip up could be extremely costly for a few hours!
Only been able to eat jelly on day one, but will try some buttered bread for breakfast, and see if I can work my way up to toast by the evening. What're the best solids you've managed so far?

believe it or not ive eaten toast every day for brekky, hurts like hell but after the 30 min pain i feel so much better, Anti inflam they have me on Diclofenac 50mg, im on penacillin 4 times a day anti biotics and cocodimal 30/500 ever 4 hours. you will defo feel better if you can eat solid, the white stuff they call "Sluff", scraping it off helps stop infection.

only things i stay away from is dairy (milk etc) builds up way too much phlem and coughing hurts :P, also anything gooey, mashed potatoe etc, sticks in my throat :), toast is wierd as hell tho small bites i cant eat, yet bigger mouth fulls go down easier! :\

Day off tomorrow so Im still up chattin to a mate on FB.

Oh and Im off to the 24/7 Spar to get some chips & curry. Anyone want something...:D

Hope you guys get better soon after havin yer tonsils out. Sounds painful :(
