Yep , good point.

Much better than the £1,664.84 quid.

I'll be back to give out to you if fraps lags me though :p

Is there a cheaper power supply I could get with the same voltage that is just as good as the Corsair one ?
Do not get me wrong I do not want so skimp on the power supply but with corsair I feel I am paying extra just for the brand name.

You could save on the motherboard as well, the Gigabyte UD3's are quality for the money. You get a free Boogie Bug with the Gigabyte as well, if you havent seen them, amazing mouse mats!

Y'know what, if you can afford it, go for it.

You never know, you may get a real interest in video editing or something later down the line...
Better to have it and not need it and all that.

If you're just gonna game, get an i5.

Actually my brother does video editing and I told him he can use my new PC for it.
So ill try save on the power supply and get the i7 then.
since with the corsair power supply , I am paying for the brand name..
I would like a future proof motherboard though.
So i will go through every motherboard recommended to see if I can afford to get a cheaper one technically speaking.
I will check out the one you recommended trusty.

The corsairs are reasonably priced for 850w, you could easily get away with a 650w one if you wanted to save money. But i think having a higher rated PSU means it runs more efficiently than if you had a 650w running at 80% load. Go with the Corsair mate..

Cheers, I will save on the motherboard then if I can , I will check through all the motherboards you all recommended and post the one I think is best and see what you guys think of it.

Get the gigabyte mobo i suggested and use the difference on the i7.

Here is my post about my change in choice regarding graphics cards.
I would love an Nvidia but it will not run shogun 2 or fall of the samurai right :(

my post about my change of graphics cards:

Guys I just found out that the 670 - 680 is awfal for shogun 2

Nvidia problems for shogun 2 and shogun 2 fall of the samurai
I mostly play Total war games and mmos

I think I will go AMD instead for my graphics card, due to these problems I just found out about, Id like to stick with the i7 as I will be using fraps and have multiple chat messengers opened at once.

Yeah we've established that your going for the 7970/7950 havent we?

Do you think I should save money for a week or two longer and go with my original motherboard choice ?

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-492-AS

it is PCie 3.0 ready

has USB 3.0

Smart Response Technology allows users to experience the benefits of both SSD & HDD. The board combines SSD responsiveness with the capacity of HDD. This in turn results in a FASTER system boot and FASTER data retrieval!

To me the mobo is the most important part of my build.

I also can't see any point choosing a Z68 board at this point.

Also, good luck installing a LGA2011 CPU in a Socket 1155 board.;)

it says PCie 3 ready , I take it that's a good thing ?

It is a good thing, but a Z77 board will have that feature too.

I'd also agree with Idleman and go for the Hyper 612 if you're not overclocking or even going for a chip that can.
Actually, I'd save even more and get a 212 or something in that price range.
